Costco’s Cinnamon Butter Pound Coffeecake Nutrition

April 24th, 2008 · 4 Comments

So, it’s easy to love the Cinnamon Butter Pound Coffeecake from Costco (read my earlier post to see how much we love it) but how bad is it to eat a slice? Are we talking a little bit of cheating on your diet or so much you need to go on a celery and water plan for the next three days? Thanks to the nice people at Costco we can all finally put our questions to rest because they’ve given me the nutritional information for that yummy cake.

So, it could be a lot worse, right? You don’t have to shoot yourself if you eat a slice (as long as it is a 12th of the cake). And, you can always console yourself with the fact that with each slice you are getting 4 grams of protein and 10% of your RDA for vitamin A, iron, thiamin, and riboflavin. That’s only slightly worse than eating a PowerBar and it tastes a hell of a lot better.

400 calories? Geez, I don’t doubt that it’s great, but that would make for an extra forty minutes on the elliptical trainer for one single slice…

I TRIED TO BUY SOME MORE OF THAT DELICIOUS COFFEE CAKE AND THEY HAVE QUIT MAKING IT IN OUR BOISE, IDAHO STORE. VERY DISAPPOINTING. WILL YOU PLEASE SEND ME THE RECIPE??? MY HUSBAND IS NOT WELL AND HE REALLY ENJOYED IT. WE WOULD SOMETIMES BUY 3 AT A TIME. CALORIES ARE NOT AN ISSUE. I WANT HIM TO HAVE WHATEVER HE WANTS TO EAT AT THIS POINT IN HIS LIFE. HE IS 72 YEARS OLD.

    THANK YOU
    GERRIE SLY

    thanks for posting the nutritionals
It really is an amazing cake [and I'm a good baker myself]
They stopped making it for a bit at my store too Gerrie but today it was back :)

As for the amount that’s worthwhile – I can’t imagine eating a 1/12th slice – it’s a BIG cake – so the nutritionals are probably not that different than any other cake for the amount you would actually eat – the label says the cake is 42 ounces . . .
