Just in time to help out a little more with any weight loss resolutions you might have made for 2009, NutriSystem has announced a new partnership with Costco. If you’re not up to speed or haven’t seen one of the tons of commercials for them, NutriSystem is one of those companies that you can get the pre-portioned meals and plans sent to your home. Basically, you pick a plan and they send you the food plus the list of groceries you need to buy to complete the meals. It is supposed to be a good way to lose weight without having to worry about what you’re eating and how many calories and carbs and fats are in each of your meals. So, no keeping track of things yourself, which sounds like a good thing. But I wonder, is the food any good though? In any case, the deal with Costco will be that the warehouses will now have NutriSystem information (sounds like little kiosks) in the stores where you can choose a plan and buy a ‘gift card’ to use via a call to the NutriSystem toll-free phone number or use the NutriSystem website to place the order for your chosen meal plans.
NutriSystem offers different options for men and women across four different plans: basic, silver, diabetic, and vegetarian. Here’s what is listed as included on the website:
- Complete 28-Day Meal Planner with Daily Diary
- Wide variety of delicious, perfectly portioned entrees, snacks and desserts
- Heart-healthy, nutritious program
- Online diaries and trackers to help you follow your plan
- No counting calories, carbs or points—and no meetings to attend
According to the news stories, Costco members who purchase the plan will receive 35 days worth of food from the NutriSystem favorites menu, free shipping, and a meal planner at the price of $259.99 for women and $284.99 for men. While this pricing may seem steep that is a discount from the normal prices of $299 and $329, respectively.
