So it turns out Kimberly and I have both completed our second 30-Day Challenge within the EA Sports game and the workout band provided in the game has about had it. It started fraying near the handles long before even our first 30-Day Challenges were completed, but judicious use of untying and retying the handles further towards the center kept it usable for a bit longer. But we had great doubts it would survive a third round of 30-Day Challenges.

So we went out and order some Thera-Band tubing -- yes, tubing instead of bands (though those who want bands can get that too.) This stuff is awesome!! It comes in rolls so you can cut it to your own desired length. It works in the EA Sports handles the same way the band does -- just because its tubing doesn't mean it will slip. Thera-band makes the tubing (and bands) in many different, color-coded resistances which makes it easy for everyone in the family to have their own workout difficulty level. Or to gradually increase the resistance as you progress through your own workout. IMO, the tubing is a better choice than the bands because it won't fray at the edges since there are no edges. It also doesn't catch on clothing, hair, or bulging tummies. But mostly I like it because it isn't sticking to my shoes! :-)

I'm still really liking the EA Sports Active. I've had some great workouts and have even customized a few of my own to supplement my 30 Day Challenge workout. I like that they use sports drills to get people exercising. It's nice to have a change from the regular exercises like you would do at a gym or on a normal fitness DVD. If they just had some yoga workouts, it would be perfect. :-)

Great review! I've been reading some really glowing reviews of this new Wii fitness tool and am on the verge of buying one. Your review pushed me a little closer, and if/when I buy I'll definitely get it at Costco.
