They were baked, battered sweet onion 'chips', and unlike those fake extruded onion ring chips, these were actual strips & rings of real onion. They were amazing in taste, crispy, not too greasy and lower in fat than some of the other snacks out there. I picked up several large bags of them last fall at the Costco in VT, but haven't seen them back in warehouse ever since. they were from a more obscure brand and I can't seem to recall the name. I'd love to find out if the manufacturer is still in business and if there are other places to find them...everybody who I gave some to keeps asking me to buy them a few bags each! That takes the $41 price (at our Costco) down to $33 for 10 filters. On our last trip, we thankfully didn't buy them because we felt $41 was just too much. That would buy 10 cases of Kirkland bottled water, the package with 35 bottles. Hopefully the Austin water will be back to normal before we'd go through that much bottled water.
