Happy Second Anniversary, AddictedToCostco!

November 7th, 2009 · 11 Comments

Today officially marks the second anniversary for my AddictedToCostco.com blog!

In that two years I have published 280 posts.  I honestly didn’t know I had that much to say about Costco or anything else. That’s an average of 2.7 posts per week.  My first few months of blogging were a little sparse, until I got the hang of it.  I try really hard to do three posts per week now, to keep everyone entertained and informed.  Who else is amazed that I can post that often about Costco?

Everyone else has done their part too!  All of my wonderful readers (that’s you) have helped out with their own contributions across tons of great comments.   There have been a whopping 2,400 comments in all, or just over 8.5 comments per post.  Sure, some of those are mine, but I really appreciate everyone else that has taken the time to stop and write something.  So, I wanted to say thank you to everyone that has shared your opinions or thoughts.

I also want to thank my guest posters that have shared their thoughts through their own articles.  Including Dave’s (that’s my husband), there have been eight posts contributed by other people: BB, Stella, TampaSlim, and TJ .  I love that people want to share something about their love for Costco and feel like my blog is the right place to do it!

And of course, a big thanks to Costco for all the cool products and great customer service stories that I’ve posted about.  (It didn’t seem right to thank everyone but them.)

We are recent “transplants” from northern Virginia to Newnan, GA. Aside from getting used to the area, I am beside myself that the closest COSTCO is nearly one-hour’s drive from my home. With the holidays fast approaching, it is going to be so very difficult to get my COSTCO fix. Any plans for a new COSTCO in the Newnan area.

Thanks for all the kind words and thoughts! It’s really nice that so many people enjoy reading my blog!

And Clue, you are so right, Dave is awesome because he never makes fun of my Costco love and even helps out with lots of blog related stories and pictures, plus he’s my IT guy…where would my blog be without him?

I haven’t commented before, but want to take this chance to thank you for your blog. I really look forward to reading it. I’m also addicted to Costco and it is great fun to get a head’s up on the latest and greatest from you.

    Keep up the great work!

    :)

(By the way, I’m from Issaquah, Wa. where as you know Costco is headquartered. I’ve had the pleasure of organizing field trips there for my kids, which have been so much fun. They let us come in before the store opens and have a grand tour. They let the kids decorate cookies and see the vault where they keep all the money–no grown ups allowed. I asked the employee giving us a tour if they get any special discount for working there and she said that they don’t because Costco only sells at 10% above wholesale so everyone gets the discount. The employees are just the first ones to see the items they are closing out, which can be a big benefit!)

Dave, you may think yourself insignificant to the whole deal, but many of us know all too well that too many women don’t get to reach their goals due to the whining or out right roadblocks thrown at them by an unsupportive spouse. But even beyond that, you’ve done more than just not stand in Kimberly’s way, you’ve also been her sometimes-muse and frequent partner in shopping crime.

None of which is take away anything from dear Kimberly, who does indeed rock!!

    Happy Anniversary!

I’m really enjoying this blog, specially the reviews on items that have tempted me. I think I know where I’m getting my Thanksgiving Turkey-breast.

Hi Clue, please, Kimberly deserves *all* the credit for this site. I simply set up the software for her and wrote one guest post. That’s a very small contribution. Kimberly, you rock!!!

And let me also add that I enjoy reading all the comments from the readers too, in which Clue is a frequent contributor.

Congrats. I check this blog about everyother day. Great information from you and readers. Kind of like a casual Consumer Report! Thank you for your great work.
