This is another another post looking for reviews from readers that have used one of the Costco service vendors. However, this time we’re looking for reviews on the custom closet systems that you can buy through Costco using either California Closets or EasyClosets.com.
I haven’t had a need to take advantage of the closet organization services offered through Costco, so I’m hoping some of you have, and are willing to share your experiences. Liyun (the reader asking for reviews) asked specifically about the EasyClosets.com closets. However, when I visited Costco.com, I noticed that they offer closets from EasyClosets.com, as well as California Closets.
If you go with the EasyClosets.com people you get a 20% discount and a free drawer upgrade, as well as professional design services. California Closets offer much of the same stuff, it seems, and their discount is a savings of up to $1,000.00 on any of their closet systems. The biggest difference that I see though, is that the California Closets folks have an in-home design consultation, and also install your closet system. Whereas, with EasyClosets.com you do the assembly and installation yourself. And I’m betting there’s a big bit of difference in price to have someone else install it, which may or may not be worth it.
So, if you’ve had experience using either of these companies to get a closet or some other type of storage solution, please share your thoughts on the experience.

I’ve used EasyClosets.com in the past. Would definitely recommend them. Really easy to install and the product quality is excellent. If you have any issues while designing or installing, their customer service team helps as well. If you’re looking to save money and do-it-yourself, this is the way to go.

Another option: if you are lucky enough to have a Closet Tailors business operating in your area, their pricing seems to be closer to Easy Closets, while their service and quality is a step above California Closets. They develop custom computerized designs and they do the installation too. We had them do our master closet initially. Then, we had them back for the kid’s closets and our home office. Highly recommend!

They don’t appear to have an EasyClosets link anymore, and their agreement w/ California Closets expires Oct 15th. I wonder what’s next.

We had our new master closet fitted by California Closets – excellent, fit perfectly, installed quickly and without a mess to clean up.
I would recommend them highly
Only problem, we had them installed over 8 weeks ago with the understanding that we would receive a $300 rebate check in the mail for
going through Costco – it has not arrived as of today – not happy about that at all.

Looks like the new closet service associated with Costco is called Technik. Looks to me not as high quality as California Closets from their photos and website. But I have never called or bought from them yet so I cannot be sure.
