Costco US Coupon Book: August 18 – September 11, 2011

August 13th, 2011 · 9 Comments

I was debating about whether I should post my regular weekly review post today, or this new US coupon book.  I decided that just in case anyone was making a trip to Costco this weekend, and hadn’t gotten their new coupon book yet, that I should post them so that my fellow Costco fans could avoid buying something that is about to have a discount.  This new set of coupons doesn’t start until Thursday, August 18 though.  So, you’ll have to wait a few more days but at least you can prepare for your next shopping trip.  There are coupons worth more than $2,000.00 in this upcoming book, and then another $4,700.00 in online deals at Costco.com.  There are also some excellent instant savings deals that you can take advantage of in the warehouses.

Costco US Coupon Book: August 18 - September 11, 2011

I’ve uploaded the new Costco US Coupon Book PDF(or view it in the Google PDF viewer) so you can browse it if you haven’t gotten yours yet.  While you can print these out for reference purposes, Costco only accepts the original coupons (if your location requires you to hand them in).  If you didn’t get your book or never do, you should stop by Customer Service and make sure that they have all of your mailing information correct and that you have allowed them permission to send you things in the mail.  Also, while you’re there, ask them for a copy of the latest book.  If you were not aware, the coupon books are only mailed to the primary member on the account.

We are back to the usual tire coupon this month.  There’s a coupon for $70.00 off a set of Bridgestone Tires.  So, if you’re looking to get a new set of tires for the new school year, and you missed the previous tire coupon, here’s your chance to get a bit of a savings.

For all of the new parents, there’s a $5.00 off coupon for Kirkland Signature diapers, but sadly just a limit of 2 boxes.  You can get sizes 1-2 to 6 and the amount in the boxes depends on the size.

Looking through these coupons, I get the feeling that it must be time for a good Fall cleaning.  There are so many cleaning products in this coupon book, I feel tidier and cleaner, just having looked at it.  There are really just 11 coupons for cleaning products, but it is a good selection with OxiClean as my favorite because I really do think it keeps your whites brighter.  But there are also coupons for Palmolive and Dawn dish soap, Finish tabs, Clorox 2, Bounce, and Lysol wipes, as well as some other products.

There is a little selection of coupons for various food items this month, definitely doesn’t seem like as many as there usually are.  However, my favorite one for the Trident Seafood Ultimate Fish Sticks.  These are the best fish sticks ever created (at least they were the last time I had them right before we moved).  I’m not really a fish stick type person, since I’m over the age of 8, however, these are so so good.  If you haven’t tried them before, you should take advantage of this $3.00 off coupon to try them for yourself.   These are one of the things that I look for in our UK Costco every time we go, but sadly I never see them.  But I keep hoping.  Here’s what I wrote about them in 2008, the first time I bought them:

  • Trident Ultimate Fish Sticks – Ok, since we were on the subject of fish, I will fess up to buying fish sticks. I really never would have done it but they had a demo. And darn if they weren’t really crispy and delicious. The fish sticks are supposed to be better than the usual ones “offering more fish, better fish and less breading” according to the Trident website. They are certainly some of the best fish sticks I’ve ever had, in any case. They’re made with Alaskan Pollock and do cook up nice and crispy, though we did find that we had to cook them about 6 minutes longer (so, 19 minutes total) than the package instructions to get them really crispy. They have suggestions of how you can use them on the Trident website, including fish tacos which I think I’ll try. 3.5 lbs (57 fish sticks) for $11.39.

I think a fair number of coupons this month seem to be geared toward the back to school electronics purchases.  There are online coupons or instant savings deals on seven different computer systems or laptops, as well as an all-in-one printer coupon.  So, if you were thinking of purchasing a new computer, you should make sure you check out all of these deals first.

Thank you so much for posting the coupon books. My mother-in-law and I share a membership and only she gets the coupon book – 3 hours away. This is perfect for me to peruse while making my list.
I’ve used it several times now in the past few years. Thank you.

I love those fish sticks. They are great. I am going to stock up with this coupon, when I have a chance. The only thing is, I really don’t care for them baked. Deep fried, though, they are delicious.

@Robin, I have a Shark Steam Mop (and I bought it from Costco), although it’s an earlier model (not a Professional), than the one with the coupon. I love mine.

I’ve been eying that Shark Professional Steam Mop.

Costco sells sells it for $99 and less the coupon it will cost only $79. Everywhere I have looked it sells new (vs refurbished) for over $120.

A friend has a Shark steam mop, though I don’t know which model and she loves it.

@Robin – I’ve heard great things about it too. I have a friend that has one and loves it; uses it to clean anything and everything.

A few months back, I bought a shredder from Costco, only to have the coupon come out about a week later. Three weeks later guest services, I was told if I brought in the receipt, they would credit me the amount of the difference.

So save your receipts and if something goes on sale a week or so later, ask at guest service if they will adjust your cost.

I know I’m probably late to the party, but I’ve finally figured out how to pour from the Costco square milk carton w/o any spills.

Took about 8 gallons to get it just right, but I’ve come up with a way of cutting the seal in a couple spots so you can pour it like a normal milk jug and not have it run all down the side of the container.

Will have a pic of what it looks like and upload it soon.

Those are the only fish sticks that we buy – they are made with whole filet fish instead of fish flakes or mince (which is who knows what from which fish.) They are delicious! We always cook them longer too.
