The current Costco UK coupon book started a few days ago on November 21 and runs through December 11. This is a surprisingly short span of time for a coupon book, but at least you’ll have a few weeks to get your shopping done. This month, there is only £420.00 worth of coupons, which is about a third of the previous book. I’m hoping that they put out another coupon book before Christmas because although this one has some good savings on desirable items, it certainly doesn’t feel like the usual coupon book for sure.
I’ve uploaded the latest Costco UK Coupon Book PDF (or view it in the Google PDF viewer) so you can browse it if you haven’t gotten yours yet. If you didn’t get your book or never do, you should stop by Customer Service and make sure that they have all of your mailing information correct and that you have allowed them permission to send you things in the mail. Also, while you’re there, ask them for a copy of the latest book if they didn’t hand you one when you walked in the store. Here in the UK I never have to actually give them the coupons, and they don’t seem interested in taking them from people that have cut them out either. But I still find it useful to have a copy so I know what to look for because I don’t always notice the signs that they’ve posted to let you know what has a coupon. I usually download a copy to my iPhone before I go to the store so that I can easily reference it while shopping.
If you haven’t heard, or didn’t quite pick up on it with the big ads trumpeting it, Costco UK has started offering the American Express True Rewards card like they have in the United States. I’ll try to write a post about this in the next week or so to get all the UK Costco fans up to speed on how the card works and the rebate information too.
But on to the good stuff: this month’s coupons. There are certainly some items in the coupons that make outstanding Christmas gifts. Although, as you can guess with just £420.00 worth of coupons, there aren’t that many coupons at all, just 56 in total. There is an array of electronics gear on offer this month from cameras to GPS units to televisions and computers. To me it seems like the best deals are on those items.
Of course, there are a smattering of other seemingly random items as well. Such as thermal underwear, which seems timely and appropriate for the likely upcoming cold weather. On the other hand, the football goal seems a bit out of season, but that’s probably why it has a coupon deal, huh? What there are definitely no coupons for are the things that I need like laundry and cleaning supplies. This certainly seems like an odd coupon book without many of the standard items that you usually find in the Costco coupon books.
Now would certainly be the best time to pick up new prescription eye glasses or contact lenses at Costco though since there are four coupons for these items. There are two coupons for eye glasses this month. There is a coupon for buy one, get one free designer frames, which seems like a great deal. Then there’s another one for £30.00 off your second pair of frames and lenses when you purchase them all together. I’m guessing you can’t use those two together to get an even better deal. There’s also two coupons for contact lenses. There is a coupon for 12% off a 12 month supply (4 packs) of Ciba Air Optix contact lenses. Then there’s also a coupon for J&J dailies where you can get 3 months of your year supply for free (that means you buy 270 pairs and get 90 pairs for free). So, if you are vision challenged, now might be the time to purchase your eyewear of choice for the upcoming year.
