The new Costco UK coupon book started yesterday, 6 February, and runs through 26 February; not even a full three weeks. This coupon book has about £700.00 worth of coupons, which is about £200.00 less than last month. However, it seems like a really good bunch of coupons to me. But maybe that is just because I really need laundry products and it has all of them in this coupon book. I was beginning to think I was going to have to pay, shock, full price, for my fabric conditioner and laundry soap. The horror of it! Luckily, just in time, the right coupons have shown up.
I’ve uploaded the latest Costco UK Coupon Book PDF (or view it in the Google PDF viewer) so you can browse it if you haven’t gotten yours yet. If you didn’t get your book or never do, you should stop by Customer Service and make sure that they have all of your mailing information correct and that you have allowed them permission to send you things in the mail. Also, while you’re there, ask them for a copy of the latest book if they didn’t hand you one when you walked in the store. In the UK I never have to actually give them the coupons, and they don’t seem interested in taking them from people that have cut them out either. But I still find it useful to have a copy so I know what to look for because I don’t always notice the signs that they’ve posted to let you know what has a coupon. I usually download a copy of the PDF I post to my iPhone before I go to the store so that I can easily reference it while shopping.
As I mentioned, this coupon book seems much more appealing to me than the recent books. Though, I think the last one was better than the last few before it too. In any case, there are several coupons that I am considering for the month. And there are a couple of coupons for items that I have previously bought, that I would highly recommend if you’re on the fence. The Tramontina saute pans (3 piece set for £19.18 with VAT after £4.00 coupon) are great. I bought these a few years ago when there were just two pans in the set and they are still my favourite pans to use for things like cooking eggs or sauteing veggies. The addition of the third pan makes it even better; sizes 8, 10 and 12 inches. The non-stick coating lasts quite well, and even after having them for several years and washing them quite a bit, it still is in perfect condition.
The other item that I really like this month is the Joseph & Joseph chopping board set (4 boards and holder for £19.18 with VAT after £4.00 coupon). They are colour coded so you don’t mix your meats and veggies on your cutting boards for better hygiene. Plus, they’ve got this nice little holder s that they are easy to find and keep together. These have a slightly different holder than mine, that I think probably makes it a bit easier to get the boards in and out. The boards are very durable and while they have gotten slice marks on them they still look quite good after we’ve had them for two years. And I’d rather they get little cut marks on the boards than have them so hard that they damage the edges on my much more expensive knives. The size is perfect for chopping little things or even pretty good sized items – not big enough for a turkey or a huge roast but ‘normal’ sized items will work perfectly. I also like them because they are easy to clean in the dishwasher, so you can make sure that they get cleaned with super hot water.
There’s also the ever useful and totally awesome SpaceBag storage set (14 pieces for £16.78 after £3.00 coupon). If you have clothing, towels, pillows, bedding, or anything soft like that, that you would like to store in a smaller amount of space you definitely need to get these. They have those goofy commercials on television which are so infomercial like that I think they make them seem like something you wouldn’t want to buy. But honestly, they are great for all of your soft storage needs and you will truly be amazed by how much less space things take up. I used these when we moved and couldn’t believe how the duvets and pillows smushed down to be so thin. Plus, they were perfectly clean when we got them out of the moving truck; the outside of the bags were not so clean so I’m glad they were perfectly protected. Also, when you pop open the bags, everything just comes right back to it’s normal shape and size and doesn’t even look all wrinkled or weird like you might think it would.
So, aside from those items, there are several other great buys this month. I’m considering the Oneida bakeware set (5 pieces for £19.18 with VAT after £4.00 coupon). I left all of my baking items in storage when we moved because I thought I could do without them for a year. So, I miss being able to make cupcakes and things. Though I did recently get two 6″ round cake pans (it really is the perfect size for a cake for two people). Of course, I might be better off just buying a single muffin tin, since I don’t have much cabinet storage for things like this.
Speaking of things I like but don’t have storage space for, I really like the appetizer set that they have this month too. It’s a 7 piece set for £14.38 with VAT after a £3.00 coupon and you get everything you’d need to host a nice little party.
The coupons I have been eagerly awaiting for a couple of months now are finally here. There is everything for your laundry and dish cleaning needs. I think all of the Fairy cleaning products seem to be on sale now – liquitabs to dishwashing liquid. Plus, there’s a coupon for Vanish and Comfort fabric conditioner. Finally I will be able to restock my laundry products. Phew!
