CNBC Hosting $10,000 Sweepstakes on Facebook

April 17th, 2012 · 16 Comments

As I’ve mentioned before, CNBC will premiere a new documentary on April 26 about Costco called “The Costco Craze: Inside the Warehouse Giant”.  This is exciting news to all of us that love Costco.  There’s also big news at the CNBC Facebook page where they are giving away $10,000.00!!!  So, if you’re on Facebook, you should definitely check it out and click the ‘Like’ button.  After you click the ‘Like’ button, you’ll be shown an entry form where you can sign up to win that enormous $10,000.00 prize.  Of course, this is only open to those that reside in the U.S. or District of Columbia (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands and other U.S. territories and possessions) and you also have to be over the age of 18 (there are some other things too so you should be sure to read the official rules).  The lucky winner will be announced April 26th during the premiere showing of The Costco Craze on CNBC at 9 pm eastern. How exciting!  Hope you all enter & one of the readers here wins!

If you’d like to find out more about the documentary, you can find lots of interesting information about the upcoming show on the CNBC webpage.  They have a few articles that make for a good read about various aspects of shopping at Costco.  The documentary looks good and I can’t wait to see it here in the UK (hopefully I’ll have dates sometime in the future).  There will be lots of good Costco information and there’s even a chat with Jim Sinegal!  I thought I’d give you all a little taste of what the upcoming documentary will hold to get you all excited.  So, here’s the CNBC “commercial” video:

Of course, I don’t agree with the woman that acts like we’re all just senselessly buying things that we don’t need or want, just because it’s at Costco and we believe we’re getting a bargain.  I’ve always been a big proponent of only buying what you need or want.  There’s nothing wrong with a few impulse buys, and I think everyone does that no matter where they shop, but you definitely need to maintain your sanity while shopping.  Anyway…I’m getting all feisty now.

So, don’t forget to set your TiVo (or DVR of your choice) to record The Costco Craze on CNBC April 26th at 9 pm and 12 am Eastern Time.

Yea, sometime people just go for the cheap, but never realize every penny adds up. It is better to buy things that you need instead of thing that you want.

We just saw the Costco Crazy show this past weekend and found it extremely interesting. Watched it twice!

I hope with James Sinegal stepping down, Craig Jelinek will carry on with Jame’s same work ethics and philosophy.

We enjoy shopping at Costco and looking at all of the special items that are featured throughout the different seasons. I don’t have your same enthusiasm, but then again….who does. You’re lovely!

We loved your piece on the show and I plan on following your blog.

    Nice job!

My husband works at a Costco in Albuquerque and he said they do take foodstamps. At least in New Mexico they do.

I like Costco but I don’t go cause they don’t take foodstamps I think that if they take foodstamps they will have more costumers

  7. 9 Alberto // 2012.04.26 at 9:13 pm

Not fair that non U.S. Costco customers could not participate in Sweepstakes ,we are part of their profit too !

@Alberto – Did you notice that people in Alaska and Hawaii couldn’t participate in the sweepstakes either? Kind of odd, but they must have had some reasoning behind it, I guess.

@Cindy – The contest is sponsored by CNBC/NBC Uni versal and not Costco. So, unless you also work for CNBC or NBC (or your spouse or immediate family member does) you can enter the sweepstakes.
