Costco US Coupon Book: August 16 – September 9, 2012

August 11th, 2012 · 7 Comments

I thought I would post about the upcoming Costco US coupon book this week instead of my usual Saturday review post.  I wore myself out going to the the final Olympic matches of the men’s beach volleyball Thursday night and just don’t have the energy to write up informative reviews this week.  The matches were awesome, by the way, and we really had a great time at our first and only Olympic excursion for London 2012.  But I digress.

The new Costco US coupon book runs from this coming Thursday, August 16, through September 9, 2012.  This month there are coupons worth more than $1,700.00 in discounts, and then another $5,500.00 in online deals at Costco.com.  The value of the coupon book is roughly the same as last month.  As always, there are a few gems amongst the coupons this month, and some that are less wow-ing.

Costco US Coupon Book: August 16 – September 9, 2012

I’ve uploaded the new Costco US Coupon Book PDF (or view it in the Google PDF viewer) so you can browse it if you haven’t gotten yours yet.  While you can print these out for reference purposes, Costco only accepts the original coupons (if your location requires you to hand them in).  If you didn’t get your book or never do, you should stop by Customer Service and make sure that they have all of your mailing information correct and that you have allowed them permission to send you things in the mail.  Also, while you’re there, ask them for a copy of the latest book.  If you were not aware, the coupon books are only mailed to the primary member on the account.  Also, don’t forget that in the US you can now download the Costco app for your smartphone and get the current coupons as well as many other helpful bits of Costco information.

First things first, the usual tire coupon is for $70.00 off a set of Bridgestone tires this month. Unfortunately, this coupon doesn’t include anything about installation like the July coupon.  But at lest this way you can make your car safe for your final summer road trip plans or all of the upcoming back to school driving and get a new set of tires.

And speaking of back to school time, there are also lots of good coupons and instant savings deals for computers and all necessary bits for getting your favorite student all set up for the new school year.  There are instant savings for three laptops, a desktop, a printer, and even the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.  Online you’ll find even more desktop and notebook deals, so be sure to check Costco.com too.

Some of my favorite items have coupons this month, including OxiClean($4.00 off a 12.5 pound box, Izze Sparkling Juice ($3.75 off 24 cans), Angus Cheeseburgers ($3.00 off a box of 8), just to name a few.  There is a nice variety of coupons for cleaning products of all kinds this month, which is great if you are needing to stock up on all those necessities.  What I did notice is that this is the first month in a long time that there are no coupons for toilet paper or paper towels.  I didn’t know they could make a coupon book without a coupon for at least one of those.

I agree whole heartedly! It is amazing that this is still in existence and not shut down. It should be easy to prove and, from the reviews I’ve read it seems like the don’t even send out any information at all, let alone, what they are claiming. Just “not getting what you ordered” is grounds for false advertising charges and with all the disclaimers we see on ads these days it is a wonder why the governing agencies haven’t cracked down on this sort of thing.I do have a question for anyone on solar power. I have seen many programs and articles talking about making solar panels that do not have to be on a silicon wafer, making them far cheaper to produce. I am not talking about solar panel paint (which is said to be not far away) but just panels made using another medium other than silicon.Does anyone know of someone marketing this technology?

    This is for Lola:

Many of us cannot afford the membership price. Other family members can get a free card for us. We “free” members do NOT receive this flyer. Not all family members live nearby. If you have ever been “without” the necessities of life you would understand.

Target & Walmart have the “necessities of life” for those of you who can’t afford a Costco membership.

Love the website! I think I saw this website on MSNBC or something…and I was so happy that someone else feels like to do about Costco. I love the place and think I’m going to do a blog post on it. I will link to your blog for others to see.

    Best,
