Costco US Coupon Book: January 2 – 27, 2013

January 3rd, 2013 · 8 Comments

I hope everyone had an amazing holiday.  We were very busy because of the usual holiday stuff, a visit from my mom, a long trip to Christmas markets in Europe, and then of course, the move to Sydney stuff.  So, I’m really sorry for the delay in getting these posted but on holiday I didn’t have full access to a computer, and posting these types of things from my iPhone is just not going to happen.  But I am just a day late really.  So, now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get back to saving on those everyday items that you buy at Costco.  This month there are coupons worth more than $1,500.00 in discounts, and then another $5,400.00 in online deals at Costco.com.  The value of the coupon book is a bit lower than the previous book, but there are still lots of solid deals.

Costco US Coupon Book: January 2 – 27, 2013

I’ve uploaded the new Costco US Coupon Book PDF (or view it in the Google PDF viewer) so you can browse it if you haven’t gotten yours yet.  While you can print these out for reference purposes, Costco only accepts the original coupons (if your location requires you to hand them in at all).  If you didn’t get your book or never do, you should stop by Customer Service and make sure that they have all of your mailing information correct and that you have allowed them permission to send you things in the mail.  Also, while you’re there, ask them for a copy of the latest book.  If you were not aware, the coupon books are only mailed to the primary member on the account.  Also, don’t forget that in the US you can now download the Costco app for your smartphone and get the current coupons as well as many other helpful bits of Costco information.

As usual, in the regular coupon area there’s one for $70.00 off a set of Michelin tires.  This is perfect if you need new tires for winter driving but didn’t have a chance to take care of it with the last coupon book because of all of the holiday hub-bub.

There are plenty of computer deals in the instant savings or online only deals.  So, if you didn’t get your dream computer for the holidays, this might be the time to upgrade or replace your old computer.

You can get a whopping $100.00 off a Dyson DC40 Animal Ball vacuum cleaner this month.  And it is an instant savings deal, so you don’t even need to clip a coupon.  This is a really good deal and better than the usual coupons for Dyson vacuums too.  If you’ve got an animal or just like to have super clean carpet and upholstery, this is the vacuum for you.  I’ve heard from several friends with pets that these are just amazing and no other vacuum holds a candle to them.  If I were in the US, I’d totally be all over this deal and I don’t even have a dog anymore.

There seem to be lots of coupons or instant savings for food and beverages this month.  My favourite Langer’s Mango Nectar is $2.00 off the 128 oz. jug.  This is the best mango juice ever!  I’m glad we’re going to Sydney because I’ve been assured that the Costco there has it and I’ve really missed it the last few years.  They should certainly stock it at the UK Costco locations too.  I also like the Bellatoria pizzas ($4.00 off a 3 pack) that have an instant savings deal this month.  They have a really super thin crust that is crunchy and delicious and makes a nice light meal.  There’s also a $4.20 coupon for the Chobani Greek Yogurt variety pack (15 count) this month.  They make a delicious Greek yogurt mixed with various fruit choices (these vary by location apparently); really yummy.

Perhaps the most useful coupon for this time of year is the $10.00 off of Intuit’s Turbo Tax 2012.  With this coupon you can get the Deluxe with or without States, Premier, or Home & Business versions, whatever one fits your needs.  I buy this every year so that our US tax prep will be a breeze.  Plus, you get free efile of your tax returns so that the stress is reduced and you get your refund that much faster.  I highly recommend this for everyone that is filing taxes that are more involved than a 1040EZ.  You can get this online too, if you won’t be able to get to the store before the coupon expires.

There are lots of other great coupons this month too.  There are tons of cleaning coupons – stuff to clean your laundry, windows, bathrooms, countertops, and furniture.  Plus, there are the great deals on paper towels, toilet paper, and Kleenex.  And coupons for toothpaste, mouthwash, and toothbrushes too, as well as shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, lotion, and even deodorant  So, your house will be sparkling clean, as will you.  But seriously, it is a great time to stock up on all the more day to day supplies you depend on getting at Costco.

I missed getting the Turbo Tax, does anyone know if another $10 coupon will come out for a possible end of February 2013 – March 2013 coupon book?

Hi Kimberly, I was looking for info on the latest coupon book and stumbled across your blog (and spent a rainy, dreary weekend catching up on all of the posts!). I live in Issaquah WA – and our Costco is directly across the street from the HQ. At our store, at least, the savings are automatic on all coupon items. We used to have to present at least one, but haven’t had to do that in a while. I think it depends on how strictly the store management interprets the coupon policy. Over the holidays, we were chatting in-line with someone from southeastern Washington state, and she said that they still have to present a coupon for every item.

Best of luck on your move to Sydney! I look forward to reading about your the Costco adventures in Oz!

in the UK the stores the system automatically deducts the coupon value when you buy the product, then the coupon book is mailed to you for reference and you don’t need to tote the book/coupons with you when you go to the store.
Shame the US stores can’t/won’t do that – perhaps it’s something they could look into.

i did download the costco app and i can visualize the current coupons, but am wondering how they will be redeemed since there is no barcdoe for them to scan ( hope i am making this clear enough) my costco requires the specific coupon to scan and this app would make it great to not have to remember to bring the book of coupons along…… thanks in advance for any help!

The Costco app will show you the coupons, however, just like the PDF that I post they are not redeemable and are just for reference purposes only. If your Costco locations requires you to hand them at least one physical coupon when you check out, then you have no alternative but to use the paper coupon book to get the savings. It’s unfortunate really. I’m hoping that Costco will soon let you use the app to scan a barcode for the coupons.
