If you have your Costco membership tied to an American Express TrueEarnings credit card in the US, then it is time to be on the lookout for your reward coupon.  We are signed up to receive our statements digitally, so they were nice enough to send out an email to remind us to look for the reward coupon as part of our February statement.

Don’t miss out on your Costco American Express reward coupon

Here’s what American Express said:

We’re writing to let you know that your February billing statement will include the reward coupon for your TrueEarnings^® Card from Costco and American Express. If you’re eligible, the reward coupon will be on the last page of your statement.

To redeem your paper reward coupon, you must visit a Costco location in person before the coupon expires on August 31, 2013. The coupon that appears online in your billing statement is for illustrative purposes only and cannot be redeemed. Please note that you must maintain an active Costco membership to redeem the reward.

Remember you can redeem your reward coupon for merchandise or cash at any U.S. Costco warehouse.

I know that there have been a lot of people that have missed out on very large rewards because they didn’t notice the reward coupon that is attached to their statement.  To be fair, it does look like just another bit of that junk mail and advertising stuff that the credit card companies attach to their bills.  So I just want to remind everyone that they should check their statements for their reward coupon!  Depending on your billing cycle, I believe the reward coupon could be part of the bill you receive in March instead of February.  In any case, you should get it as part of your February or March American Express statement.

Sadly, because we are rarely in the US and don’t plan to be there before the end of August, we’re going to miss out on our reward again this year.  Of course, since this is our US credit card, we don’t have that much of a reward coming to us anyway.  But don’t miss out on yours and accidentally throw it away, shred it, or file it and forget about it!

Also, just in case you are in doubt, this is the reward coupon for the spending you have done on your American Express TrueEarnings coupon and is not the same as the 2% cash back reward that you get from Costco.
