Costco US Coupon Book: September 5 – 29, 2013

September 2nd, 2013 · No Comments

The next Costco US coupon book starts this Thursday, September 5 and runs pretty much throughout the month, to September 29.  This coupon book has $1,800.00 in savings for the warehouses, which is a hundred less than last month.  There’s also an additional $6,600.00 in Costco.com savings, which is quite a bit less than last month. There are 104 coupons for use in the warehouse and of those only 13 have the blue arrow that means you will be required to show either the physical coupon book or the Costco app on your phone. There’s a really good selection of items from housewares to food to cleaning items.  And there are a couple of really good deals in the Costco Photo Center for ink cartridge refills and big, poster-sized photo prints.

Costco US Coupon Book: September 5 – 29, 2013

I’ve uploaded the new Costco US Coupon Book PDF (or view it in the Google PDF viewer) so you can browse it if you haven’t gotten yours yet.  If you weren’t aware, Costco had updated their coupon policy for “streamlined savings”.  Basically, that means that you won’t have to clip coupons (if you ever needed to for you location anyway) again, but instead you can just show the cashier the coupon book.  Or, if that is too much for you to remember to bring, you can get the latest Costco smartphone app that will allow you to use the coupons in the app for in-store redemption.  Now all you have to do to redeem the coupons is show the cashier your smartphone with the Costco app or the Costco coupon book.  So, if you’ve got a smartphone and haven’t downloaded the Costco app yet, this is the perfect reason to do so.  You can get the app for either iPhone or Android in their respective app stores.  The only coupons that you must have the app or coupon book to redeem are the ones with the blue arrow, so there are still plenty of instant savings deals as well.  For many they didn’t have to clip coupons anyway, so this isn’t necessarily all that different.  The one big change is that Costco says that they will no longer have extra copies of the coupon book available at the warehouses.   If you didn’t get your book or never do, you should stop by Customer Service and make sure that they have all of your mailing information correct and that you have allowed them permission to send you things in the mail.  Or, just use the Costco smartphone app.  Lastly, you can also view them on the Costco.com website but they’re only available when the coupon book is active, so no preview, but that’s what you have me for!

As usual, there’s a coupon for $70.00 off a set of new tires; this month the brand of choice is Michelin.  You can also take advantage of this deal through Costco.com. This is a great time to get some new tires to prepare for all that fun driving required for the new school year.  If you won’t be able to make it in to Costco until the end of the month, you’re in luck because the tire coupon runs longer than the rest of the book from September 5 – October 2, 2013; three additional days.

There’s an excellent coupon for $120.00 off the Dyson DC41 Animal Bagless Vacuum.  I know a few people who have this and rave about them, even people without animals.  According to everyone I know, they just pick up so much more dirt than any other vacuum that they are well worth the price.  But hey, at least you can get $120.00 off now.  You can take advantage of this deal at Costco.com or your local warehouse.

There are several of my favourite food or household items having coupon deals this month.  Here are my top picks:

  • Kellogg’s Pop-Tarts, 48 count for $2.20 off; limit 2.
  • SunChips Variety Pack, 30 count for $2.90 off; limit 3.
  • V8 V-Fusion Variety Pack, 24, 11.5 ounce cans for $4.00 off; no limit.
  • The Laughing Cow Light Cheese Wedges, 4, 6 ounce packs for $2.25 off; no limit.
  • Kirkland Signature Cooking Spray, 2, 16 ounce cans for $1.50 off; limit 1.
  • Scotch-Brite Sponges, 21 or 18 count depending on type for $2.50 off; limit 5.
  • Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, 4, 78 wipe containers for $2.50 off; limit 2.
  • Kirkland Signature Laundry Detergent or Pods for $2.75 off; limit 1.
  • Kirkland Signature Fabric Softener, liquid or sheets, for $2.00 off; limit 1.

Also, I feel it necessary to point out the coupon for Ziploc SpaceBags.  I haven’t bought these since they’ve been under the Ziploc brand, but I love love love the vacuum bags.  They have made it so much easier for us to store things in less space – clothing, coats, sheets, towels, duvets, and even pillows – and keep it clean and safe from bugs or anything nasty like that.  And they have also made it a bit easier for us to live out of our suitcases for the last 8 months but still have enough clothing to not be wearing the exact same thing every other day.  The package they have at Costco is $5.00 off and has 15 bags in it, including 2 suitcase and 1 carry-on bag that you roll instead of vacuum.  We always take one or two of the roll-up bags with us on trips so that we have someplace to put dirty clothing, but it is also great for taking home your wet swimsuits.  With the $5.00 off the set is just $14.99, which is a great deal.

The other thing that I really like in this current round of coupons is the Snapware Pyrex Glassware 18-piece set for $6.00 off.   After the coupon, the set is $23.99, which is quite reasonable, I think.   I have the Snapware plastic set and a small set of the glass set and love them both!  They all have a seriously tight seal.  Sometimes it is so powerfully tight that even after you undo the clips it is still sealed and you have to pry off the top and it opens with a “pop” sound.  I definitely think things last longer in these containers as compared to other food storage containers or even Ziplocs.  Plus, you can use the glass containers in the freezer, microwave, or oven (without the lid obviously) and then put them in the dishwasher for easy clean-up.  The set includes a nice variety of sizes and shapes for a big selection of storage needs.  I think the smallest containers are great for non-food items too.  In any case, this is an excellent set and will allow you to ditch all of the assorted food storage containers you might have hanging around in your cabinets, and they’ll keep your food better to boot.

So that’s just a small selection of the great coupons available in the next Costco US coupon book.  Be sure to check it out and download the app if you’ve got a smartphone, or take the book with you to the store, so you can take advantage of all of the great deals this month.
