Costco US Coupon Book: October 3 – 27, 2013

September 30th, 2013 · 9 Comments

The next Costco US coupon book starts this Thursday, October 3 and runs pretty much throughout the month, to October 27.  This coupon book has $2,200.00 in savings for the warehouses, which is a few hundred more than last month.  There’s also an additional $4,900.00 in Costco.com savings, which is quite a bit less than last month. There are 98 coupons for use in the warehouse and of those only 17 have the blue arrow that means you will be required to show either the physical coupon book or the Costco app on your phone. There’s a nice selection of items from housewares to food to cleaning items and some of my favourite items have coupons this month.  Also, there’s a great coupon $5.00 off a custom photobook from the Costco Photo Center.

Costco US Coupon Book: October 3 – 27, 2013

I’ve uploaded the new Costco US Coupon Book PDF (or view it in the Google PDF viewer) so you can browse it if you haven’t gotten yours yet.  If you weren’t aware, Costco had updated their coupon policy for “streamlined savings”.  Basically, that means that you won’t have to clip coupons (if you ever needed to for you location anyway) again, but instead you can just show the cashier the coupon book.  Or, if that is too much for you to remember to bring, you can get the latest Costco smartphone app that will allow you to use the coupons in the app for in-store redemption.  Now all you have to do to redeem the coupons is show the cashier your smartphone with the Costco app or the Costco coupon book.  So, if you’ve got a smartphone and haven’t downloaded the Costco app yet, this is the perfect reason to do so.  You can get the app for either iPhone or Android in their respective app stores.  The only coupons that you must have the app or coupon book to redeem are the ones with the blue arrow, so there are still plenty of instant savings deals as well.  For many they didn’t have to clip coupons anyway, so this isn’t necessarily all that different.  The one big change is that Costco says that they will no longer have extra copies of the coupon book available at the warehouses.   If you didn’t get your book or never do, you should stop by Customer Service and make sure that they have all of your mailing information correct and that you have allowed them permission to send you things in the mail.  Or, just use the Costco smartphone app.  Lastly, you can also view them on the Costco.com website but they’re only available when the coupon book is active, so no preview, but that’s what you have me for!

As usual, there’s a coupon for $70.00 off a set of new tires; this month the brand of choice is Michelin.  You can also take advantage of this deal through Costco.com. This is a great time to get some new tires to prepare for all that fun driving required for the new school year.  The good thing is that there won’t even be a lapse of a single day between tire coupons because the September coupon runs through October 2.

For all of the moms and dads, there are a couple of coupons for diapers and pull-ups that will surely be of interest to you.  There’s a coupon for $6.00 off Huggies Pull-Ups; the quantity varies by size.  There’s also a coupon for $5.00 off Kirkland Signature Diapers.  Both of these deals can also be purchased through Costco.com.

This is a great time to pick up Halloween candy because there is a coupon for $4.00 off the 30 count Mars chocolate variety pack.  Yes, these are full sized candy bars or bags of M&Ms.  Unfortunately, you have a limit of two on these, but this is a great discount.  This was always the coupon (sometimes it was Nestle) that Dave and I used to stock up for the neighbourhood trick or treaters when we were in the US.

I also immediately spotted the coupon for $2.50 off a pack of 2, 26.5 ounce jars of Nutella.  I love Nutella!  I always have some in pantry.  It is great on toast with tea, either in the morning for breakfast or in the afternoon for a little sweet treat.  Of course, you can also make lovely dessert items with your giant jars of Nutella.  Or, you could eat it straight from the jar.  I won’t judge.

I know that it is well beyond summer picnic or cookout season, however, there is a coupon on the best looking plastic plates and cutlery that you can find.  I’ve used this before and people thought it was real!  You can get $3.80 off a 160 count box of Reflections Cutlery.  This stuff has a real cutlery look and is very sturdy.  So sturdy that you could actually use the knives to cut something aside from warm butter.  You can also get $3.80 off a 50 count pack of Masterpiece Plates; 25 dinner plates and 25 cake plates. These area also really nice looking and sturdy with a gold or silver accent stripe.  They are very nice looking and you wouldn’t need to be ashamed to have these at your holiday party.  So, if you’re planning a party for any occasion, you might want to stock up on these!  If  you want to have something that looks nice and is sturdy, but you don’t want the hassle of cleaning up afterward, this is the perfect option.

Probably the best deal in the whole coupon book is an instant savings deal for $40.00 off the Little Giant 15′ Multipurpose Ladder with Wheels.  These are the best ladders ever and everyone with a house should have one.  They may seem kind of expensive perhaps, but you can contort it into so many different types of ladder, different heights and different configurations, that it is well worth it.  Plus, it is very lightweight and can be easily moved around.   We bought one in 2008 when we were doing a bunch of work in our house and needed a good, sturdy ladder.  This made the ladder work, so much easier.  It is comfortable and easy to move and adjust.  If I didn’t have one, I would definitely want to buy it.  After the $40.00 off, the ladder will end up with a price of $139.99, and it is worth every penny of that.

I know that I am always talking about how important it is to get the carbon monoxide detectors or fire extinguishers, but really, it’s better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.  I think we can all agree on that.  So, if you’re not full up on all of the important safety devices, luckily for you there is a coupon for $7.50 off First Alert fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors and a 2 pack of smoke detectors.  You can get your house all safe and secure and save quite a bit of money too.  What could be better than that?

There are a number of excellent coupons in this latest coupon book from Costco.  I could go on and on, but this is getting a bit long winded I think.  Happy shopping!

I should have said Western and Memorial in OKC by the south of the Kirkpatrick turnpike.

Okc city talk is talking about a memo of understanding or something like that between Costco and a developer at Memorial rd and the Kirkpatrick turnpike. They are saying that an announcement is coming on it. We shall see if Oklahoma gets its first Costco.

Please tell me where can I find the Master Barcode in the App that replaces the old-fashioned coupons? I have the Costco App but I cannot seem to find it. I see the online offers and warehouse offers but where is that Master Barcode?

@Ramzy – There is no barcode in the app, you just show it to them when you are checking out and they scan one that they have. Most of the coupons do not require a barcode scan or anything now, they are more like instant savings deals. Only the coupons marked with the blue arrow will require you to show the app or have the original coupon book that they can scan.

Did you notice the limit for the Nestle Toll House Morsels? 98! That’s a typo, right?

@Joanna – That is a lot of holiday baking! LOL
