Guest Post: Costco Cool for More than Just Shopping

August 20th, 2014 · No Comments

[I’ve got a quick guest post today from a fellow Costco fan who has a great idea on how to make great use of his local Costco in Phoenix.  Turns out, it is the perfect place to get a bit of exercise while staying cool.  The only downside is being constantly surrounded by great Costco deals that are so tempting.  But at least you can nibble a free sample.]

On July 7 I had kidney surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. My doctor told me that walking is the most important part of my recovery, which brings me to AddictedtoCostco. Walking around my house was tedious and repetitive, as a complete downstairs loop is only 60 steps. A venture outside in Phoenix’s 100 degree summer isn’t a good idea either. To me, the natural location to follow doctor’s orders was to go to Costco!

I took it slow, naturally, but with the help of a sectional couch for a few breaks, I managed to make a circuit and even pick up a few samples and one of my favorite lunch meats, Columbus Herb Roasted Turkey.

Best to me, from a Costco standpoint, it means I didn’t even miss a full week of Costco, despite 4 days in a hospital and a new 9″ incision.

Cheers,
Mike P.
