If you haven’t gotten your coupon book for the Costco Thanksgiving Weekend Savings, they have been available to pick up at your local Costco for a couple of weeks now. Typically these are not mailed out and you can only get them by stopping by the store. This coupon book covers Black Friday, November 28, as well as the Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving too; it runs November 28 – 30, 2014. And don’t forget that Costco, like most retailers, will be opening early on Friday, November 28 at 9 am and closing at 8.30 pm. Since the discounts in this coupon book are only available while supplies last, it might be a good idea to get there early on Friday if there’s something you really, really want. And of course, there are even more deals to be had at Costco.com, with the added advantage there of no lines, no parking, and you can start shopping whenever you want on November 27, 2014. Also, at the end of this book there is a selection of deals that are available from December 1 – 14, 2014.
If you plan on braving the post-Thanksgiving shopping crowds, know that anyone stopping by their local Costco over the weekend can pick up a copy of the latest Costco cookbook, Fabulous Cooking the Costco Way. The cookbook has more than 200 recipes using Costco products. If you miss getting a copy at the store, you can also browse it, as well as previous versions, at the Costco Connection website. You can find all of the previous cookbooks listed here under the “Resources” tab at the left-hand side. This year’s cookbook isn’t up yet, of course, but will be added to the site sometime after Thanksgiving weekend.
In this coupon book, there are 37 coupons that you can use in the warehouses for pretty impressive savings, all of which are Instant Savings deals. There are also 32 great holiday savings deals that you will be able to find only at Costco.com, including a couple of travel deals available through CostcoTravel.com. In addition, there are going to be several Instant Savings offers on Samsung televisions, tablets, and more (selection and deals vary by location). All of these coupons are only valid while supplies last; no rain checks!! I’ve uploaded a copy of the Costco US Thanksgiving Weekend Coupon Book 2014 PDF so that you can browse through it now if you haven’t picked one up. You can also view the Black Friday warehouse deals at the Costco US website (my PDF is a bit less than ideal, so if you have trouble reading it you might want to check out the online version). There’s something for everyone in this coupon collection, I think, so be sure to check it out.
As you would expect there are plenty of electronics, computers, cameras and things like that with coupons or online deals in the book. It seems like most of the coupons are in the electronics area actually, with 17 of the in-store coupons and 10 of the online only deals for electronics type items. And all 8 of the deals available from December 1 – 14, 2014 are for electronics type items. However, since there are nice deals for everything from a piano to fuzzy socks, you will certainly find something that is right for you and your holiday shopping needs. As always, there are a couple of stand-out deals to me:
- Dyson Ball DC65 Animal Plus Upright Vacuum Cleaner, $130.00 off, final price $439.99; limit 5. This is an amazingly huge amount off with this coupon. If you’ve been wanting one of these and drooling over them for months and months but just couldn’t bring yourself to pay the big price for it, this is the perfect opportunity for you. I’ve heard from several people who have Dyson vacuum cleaners that they really are the best vacuum cleaner for keeping your carpets and upholstery super clean and free from even a trace of pet hair, dust or dirt. They do such a good job of cleaning, plus they are lightweight and move so easily, you might not hate to vacuum so much anymore if you had one of these. I really want one, but of course, a teeny tiny version. This is certainly one of the things that I think could fly off the shelves because of the really large discount. So, if you’ve got your heart set on getting one of these, I would make sure to be at Costco when they open on Friday. I also just want to point out that this comes with all of the tools and a bag to store them in; apparently, there’s a version for about the same price that doesn’t have the tools and bag so be sure you price compare the right one. If you can’t make it, or don’t want to face going to your local Costco store, you can also get this deal at Costco.com.
- Battery Tender Plus Advanced Battery Charger, $10.00 off, final price of $29.99; limit 2. I know this isn’t like a WOW gift or anything, but they’re very useful. I have a Battery Tender Junior for my motorcycle (which I highly recommend for anyone with a bike that won’t be riding it in the winter) and it is a great way of keeping your battery charged and in good shape during a period when you won’t be using your vehicle regularly. The Battery Tender has a four-step charging program (initialization, bulk charge, absorption mode and float mode) that allows for optimization of battery power, without overcharging. Once it is done charging, it automatically switches to float/maintenance voltage so that your battery will be ready when you need it and won’t be at risk of overcharging (which isn’t good as you can imagine). This is the perfect thing to pick up for any vehicle you plan to not drive or ride during the inhospitable winter months. I’m a big fan to the Battery Tender and think that they are an ideal way to keep your batteries charged and ready, even when you’re not going to be taking your car, bike, or whatever out anytime soon. I’ve had mine for years and it always worked well and kept my bike ready to go when I was (obviously, it wasn’t on the bike when it was in storage but it is back on it now).
- Kirkland Signature 540 Thread Count Sheet Set, $15.00 off, prices varies by size; limit 5. I love my KS sheets and have this set on my bed right now, actually. You can get the sets in Queen, King, or California King sizes and your choice of ivory or white, canvas, blue, or agave, lagoon for Cal King and Queen sizes. All of the sets come with a fitted sheet, a flat sheet, and four pillowcases and are priced at Costco.com $79.99 for the King sizes and $69.99 for Queen, before the discount. The sheets are Supima cotton with a Sateen finish and are a decent thickness. If I take them out of the dryer promptly they maintain a very crisp appearance, it is only when I get lazy or forget them that they wrinkle. But they are a perfect weight and have a nice soft feel, which I love. I’ve had mine for a couple of years now and they have held up really well and still look crisp, feel soft and haven’t frayed, ripped or pilled (contrary to some of the unfavourable reviews at Costco.com). These are probably my favourite set of sheets out of the four that I have right now. And the prices are unbeatable for such a decent set of sheets, especially with the $15.00 discount. We have a Cal King bed and getting decent sheets for it can be shockingly expensive, so I was truly pleased to see these for a such a terrific price. The KS sheets are about half the price of the set that they were replacing that I had bought someplace allegedly known for good linens and then they frayed and ripped within a year. So at this point the KS sheets have been a sensational buy for us. You can find these at your local warehouse (though the selection may not be fully complete) and at Costco.com.
Those are just a couple of things that I wanted to point out and not get lost in the bunch of electronics deals. There are also some nice little savings on PJs and thermal shirts for men and women too that are worth considering. There are warehouse coupons for the Thanksgiving weekend, online coupons, and then a handful of coupons for the first two weeks of December, so make sure to check them all out! And don’t forget that you can shop on November 27th (actual Thanksgiving Day) at Costco.com, but you’ll have to wait until November 28 at 9 am to take advantage of the deals at your local warehouse.
