I know you’re probably thinking I’m having a bit of a late April Fool’s prank, but it seems like this one could actually be true. Costco won’t really say if this is a done deal or not, but apparently the people at TruckYeah! did get Chevrolet to confirm it is a real thing.
According to TruckYeah! they’ve received some information that makes it seem like the Kirkland Signature Special Edition truck will be a Chevrolet 1500 Silverado based on LTZ luxury or Z-71 Off-Road packages, similar to the top of the range High Country. Based on other trucks of that spec, the price will likely be someplace close to $50,000; depending on all of the extras you can get quite a hefty price tag on the High Country editions. There will be a few Kirkland Signature extras too, things like under-seat storage, a spray in bedliner and a vinyl tonneau cover. Just think of all the stuff you could bring home from your Costco shopping excursions with your new KS truck!
Chevrolet says that this new truck will be available in the US sometime in Spring or Summer 2015. It looks like they are producing 400 of them to be displayed at the warehouses across the country, but Costco members that want one will need to place a special order through a dealership. I’m assuming when these special Kirkland Signature trucks become available you’ll also be able to find out all about them at CostcoAuto.com.
I waited a while to post about this because I was hoping that Costco would make an official announcement or I could get some type of confirmation. Unfortunately, they’ve been very coy, so we’ll all just have to wait for more information. Naturally, I will try to keep everyone informed.
