Costco US Coupon Book: July 9 – August 2, 2015

July 7th, 2015 · 2 Comments

The new coupon book starts this Thursday, July 9, and runs through the first Sunday in August, (the 2nd), so through the next  big holiday.  The new coupon book offers $1,200.00 in savings, which is quite a bit less than last month, but there are still some quite good deals.  I swear some of it is ever so slightly hinting at back to school buying but it seems like summer just started, doesn’t it?

Costco US Coupon Book: July 9 – August 2, 2015

This month I have uploaded the new Costco US Coupon Book PDF (or view it in the Google PDF viewer) (this is a PDF of what they posted online), or you can view it at the warehouse coupons on the Costco.com website.  If you weren’t aware, Costco has updated their coupon policy for “streamlined savings”.  Basically, that means that you won’t have to clip coupons (if you ever needed to for your location anyway) again, but instead you can just show the cashier the coupon book or the smartphone app to redeem any offers marked with a blue arrow (which will make more sense when you see the coupon book).  You can get the app for either iPhone or Android in their respective app stores.  The only coupons that you must have the app or coupon book to redeem are the ones with the blue arrow, but they are all pretty much instant savings deals lately.  For many, they didn’t have to clip coupons anyway, so this isn’t necessarily all that different.  If you didn’t get your book or never do, you should stop by Customer Service and make sure that they have all of your mailing information correct and that you have allowed them permission to send you things in the mail.  Or, just use the Costco smartphone app.

The biggest coupon, value-wise, is definitely for the Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Plug Bagless Upright Vacuum.  You can get a whopping $100.00 off starting Thursday.  You can use this coupon in the stores or at Costco.com.  If you want to get some information about these, Costco.com has a Dyson section now with lots of information about how their vacuums work.  Right now this vacuum is $569.99, shipping and handling included, at Costco.com, so $100.00 off still makes it expensive but certainly a lot less so.  Also, the price should be less in the warehouses than it is online.  Everyone raves about the Dyson vacuums and this one seems no exception with an overall 4.5 star rating (out of 5) after 71 reviews at Costco.com.  It’s got a bunch of tools for every cleaning situation it seems, even a mattress tool, and a bag to store them all in as well.  So if you are in the market for a new vacuum, this might be the right time to consider a Dyson.  You can get all of the details at Costco.com and read through the reviews to see if this is the vacuum cleaner for you.

So, it is about a month into summer break and you and your kids might be wanting a new movie selection by now.  Luckily for parents, Costco has a coupon for $5.00 off Disney movies, as many as you want.  Summer break can seem long and let’s face it, daytime tv is no place for kids, so this is a great alternative for days when it is just too hot or rainy to go out and play.

This month they’ve also got a coupon for the best ice cream bars ever: Haagen-Dazs Vanilla Milk Chocolate Almond Ice Cream Bars.  You can get $3.00 off a box of 15 of these delicious ice cream bars.  I’m not a big ice cream fan, but even I love these ice cream bars.  They are the perfect mix of flavours and in just the right ratio.  I think it also helps that the chocolate that they use on these bars is not that weird waxy stuff that you find on so many bars like this.  Yum!  The only problem will be keeping from eating them all.

I feel like I must mention the deal for $3.00 off the PaperMate and Sharpie 34 piece Writing Essentials Pack.  I love stationery stores and always have a full stock of pens and paper and would definitely be getting this.  I can’t quite make out what all is in this set but there are definitely some mechanical pencils, lead refills, and erasers, Sharpies in black and red, some highlighters (I think), and a selection of ballpoint pens.  This could keep your home office stocked for quite some time.  Or, it would be great for a bit of a head start on your back to school shopping.  Also, if you can’t find the Sharpie or PaperMate markers, pens, or pencils that you want in your local warehouse, you really should check out the big selection at Costco.com.

If you are planning on a long family car trip, you can get a nice new set of Bridgestone tires for $70.00 off this month.  This coupon, which is really an instant savings deal, lasts for a few days longer than other deals in this book because it is valid through August 5, so you’ve got a few extra days to get your tires.  And if you are planning a family car trip this summer you might also think about taking advantage of the deal for $2.00 off the Febreeze  Air Freshener Vent Clips.  You can get a package of four clips in either Hawaiian or Linen Sky fragrance to keep your car smelling fresh and lovely, no matter how long you’ve been trapped in there listening to a chorus of “stop touching me” from the backseat.

If you’re already sick of summer and looking forward to planning a vacation for later in the year, you should take a look at the deals offered through Costco Travel.  They’ve highlighted a couple in this latest coupon book, but there are always more offers online too.  The trip to Aruba for just $399 per person looks like it could be a great deal.  As always though, make sure you do your comparison shopping to be confident you are getting the best deal!

Nice review, with the exception of the comment about not being able to “quite make out what all is in this set”. It took me less than 10 seconds to find out.
    Here are the contents:

    – 4 Lead Refills

    – 6 Write Bros Grip Mechanical Pencils

    – 2 Erasermate Erasable Pens

    – 8 InkJoy Ball Point Pens

@Linda – The only thing that I could find wasn’t the same package it had different items totally (and wasn’t sold at Costco). Thanks for the details though!
