Costco US Coupon Book: October 1 – 25, 2015

September 29th, 2015 · 6 Comments

A new coupon book to start the new month.  The new Costco US coupon book starts on Thursday, October 1, and runs for most of the month, through October 25.  This new coupon book offers $1,600.00 in savings, which is a smidge less than the previous book.  There are a lot of things in this latest batch of coupons that I like quite a lot and I’ve written about quite a lot of the products before too.  I was having a hard time deciding what to highlight because there’s so much that I like, but I’ve picked a few favourites.

Costco US Coupon Book: October 1 – 25, 2015

This month I have uploaded the new Costco US Coupon Book PDF (or view it in the Google PDF viewer) (this is a PDF of what they posted online), or you can view it at the warehouse coupons on the Costco.com website.  If you weren’t aware, Costco has updated their coupon policy for “streamlined savings”.  Basically, that means that you won’t have to clip coupons (if you ever needed to for your location anyway) again, but instead you can just show the cashier the coupon book or the smartphone app to redeem any offers marked with a blue arrow (which will make more sense when you see the coupon book).  You can get the app for either iPhone or Android in their respective app stores.  The only coupons that you must have the app or coupon book to redeem are the ones with the blue arrow, but they are all pretty much instant savings deals lately.  For many, they didn’t have to clip coupons anyway, so this isn’t necessarily all that different.  If you didn’t get your book or never do, you should stop by Customer Service and make sure that they have all of your mailing information correct and that you have allowed them permission to send you things in the mail.  Or, just use the Costco smartphone app.

As usual, there’s a coupon for $70.00 off a set of new tires; this month the brand of choice is Michelin.  The Costco Tire Center deals used to require you to have a physical coupon or the app, however, they have done away with that requirement now and this is an instant savings deal.  You can also take advantage of this deal through Costco.com.  This might be the perfect time to get some new tires if you’re doing a lot of school year driving, or maybe planning on doing a few road trips for the holidays.  Since we’re talking about things for cars, I should mention there’s also a terrific coupon for $4.00 off a set of four Goodyear All Season Car Mats.  These are perfect to keep your car interior protected from wet and yucky weather during Winter.  The mats are rubber and have deep wells to keep the wet stuff from your shoes on the mat and not just running all over your clean carpeting.  My mom bought some of these last year and thought they were just as good as some more expensive ones she bought for her other car.  They have them in black, tan, and gray (though this may vary by location) to work with pretty much every car interior.

The Little Giant MegaMax 17′ Ladder coupon for $40.00 off is one of my favourites to mention.  This coupon comes around once a year, so if you want the world’s best ladder, you need to get over to Costco and pick one up before the end of this coupon book.  I bought this way back in July 2008 (with a coupon, of course) and we used it for tons of things around the house while remodeling our bathroom and other assorted projects.  We love it!  I like how light it is; I can move it around the house without crying or getting trapped under its weight.  But the really nice thing is that it is so flexible, you can use it in so many ways and at several different heights.  Plus, it folds up to be pretty small for such a big ladder.  The one that we got was actually the older 17′ version, but obviously but they are quite similar still, just with a few additional nice features.  If you want to read more about it, before you buy one, you should read all of the details on the Costco website, they talk all about what you can do with it and give you all of the details.  And they also have a variety of handy extras that you can add to get even more out of your ladder.  The MegaMax is available only through Costco and comes with the AirDeck that works as a little platform for tools or paint cans, and things like that.  This ladder is insanely flexible allowing you to do just about anything you could want with a ladder, including using it as scaffolding.  It really is an amazing ladder and this coupon for $40.00 off, makes the deal at Costco amazing too.

This is a great time to pick up Halloween candy because there is a coupon for $4.50 off the 30 count Mars chocolate variety pack.  Yes, these are full sized candy bars or bags of Snickers, Milk Way, Twix, Skittles, and M&Ms (the mix varies by location).  Unfortunately, you have a limit of two on these, but this is a great discount.  Dave and I always used this or the Nestle candy bar coupon to stock up for the neighbourhood trick or treaters when we were in the US.  Costco also usually has some other fun Halloween candy too, I know one year we got individually wrapped jelly eyeballs that were a bit hit with the neighbourhood kids.

I know that I am always talking about how important it is to get the carbon monoxide detectors or fire extinguishers, but really, it’s better to have them and not need them, than to need them and not have them.  I think we can all agree on that.  So, if you’re not full up on all of the important safety devices, luckily for you there is a coupon for $8.00 off First Alert fire extinguishers, carbon monoxide detectors and a 2 pack of smoke detectors.  You can get your house all safe and secure and save quite a bit of money too.  What could be better than that?  And even though these next two items aren’t the same type of safety products, they’re things that would be good to have for health or safety too.  There’s a instant savings deal for $4.00 off a three pack of Duracell LED 350 Lumen Tactical Flashlights.  The flashlights have aluminum bodies and two brightnesses, as well as a zoom function.  These are small enough to keep in your car or by your bed in, or anywhere handy that you might need a little light in case of a power outage.

Along with my love of household safety is my need/desire to always have a nice first aid kit.  Costco has come in handy for this on several occasions because they have great deals on all of the things you need.  This month they have a nice deal for $7.00 off an Exergen Temporal Artery Thermometer.  These thermometers are easy to use, incredibly quick, and amazingly accurate.  They are a bit more expensive than other types of thermometers but the ease of use and accuracy makes it a smart buy.  This is definitely something I would suggest to anyone that has kids because there’s no holding anything under your tongue or sticking something in a squirming little person’s ear.  You can get this at Costco.com or in the warehouses, so if you’re looking for more information, check out the Costco.com page for it.

One last thing.  With the cold weather of Winter right around the corner, I think it seems like the perfect time to get a heated blanket.  Of course, what do you do to stay toasty warm while hanging out and watching TV or reading?  This month there’s a deal for $6.00 off a Sunbeam Plush Heated Throw.  The throw blanket (50″x60″) is soft all on its own, but then you can plug it in and use one of the three heat settings to keep you all warm and cozy while you lounge.  There’s also a three hour auto-off so that even if you fall asleep you don’t have to worry about a safety issue.  This would probably even be good for the end of your bed if you hate having cold feet when you are trying to fall asleep.  I’ve never seen one of these at our Costco location, but I’d love to have one so I’ll have to pay special attention on my visits in the next couple of months.

There are a lot of other great deals to take advantage of this month.  I couldn’t write about all of the things that I like but I’m sure you’ll be able to find tons of things that you will like this month too.  Happy shopping!

It seems that a Costco will have a certain Kirkland product then all of a sudden it disappears. We loved the spaghetti sauce but then it was gone. When we went to Minnesota we went to the Costco we used to go to and there it was. Same with a favorite kind of wine. They don’t have it here in Texas but they do up there. I get a little ticked at our local Costco because it seems they have good product then they get rid of it and never get it back again. We have to buy pickles in Minnesota because they don’t have the kind we like here. It’s very frustrating when you buy something all the time then it’s gone.

The contigo insulated mugs are a bargain. They truly are leak proof and go for about double the Costco coupon price at other stores. I bought 6 and gave some away as gifts.

@Mike – I agree, the Contigo mugs are terrific. I’ve had some for a number of years now and they never leak, which is amazing. They are really lightweight too. I think they are great for camping/backpacking or for taking to work.

Does anyone know if Costco has discontinued the Kirkland Liquid Gel for the dishwasher? I haven’t seen it in a while.

There’s plenty of it in Woodland, CA.

Glad to hear that, Lynn. I shop in NY — lately they’ve only had the Kirkland individual dishwasher paks.
