Does anyone know when the new Fubruary 2009 coupon book should be arriving in the mail?

  2. 2 Kimberly // 2009.02.04 at 12:19 pm

I just got my coupon book in the mail today. It is valid from Feb 9 – March 1. I’ll be posting about it in the next few days.

  3. 3 Shasta // 2009.02.04 at 3:25 pm

I LOVE that someone takes the time to post the coupons on this site as low lifes like me, the ones that “only” pay for the $50.00 membership, can get them delivered by mail. :)

  4. 4 Shasta // 2009.02.04 at 3:30 pm

OOPS! I surely meant “CAN’T get them delivered.”

I hate typos as much as I hate the hassle of having to go through the EXIT of the store in order to get the coupons after waiting in line and having them enter my card number.
You’d think there was “gold” in them there coupons they offer! (?)

  5. 5 Clue // 2009.02.05 at 1:17 am

Shasta, you can see the newest coupons at: http://s730.photobucket.com/albums/ww310/nhuang42/Costco%20Coupons/

  6. 6 Shasta // 2009.02.05 at 8:13 am

    Thank you Clue! :)
It’s nice to see if the wait in line for the coupons or even the trip, is worth my while before doing either!

How I can get the coupon book? I am a new member of Costco

  8. 8 Kimberly // 2009.02.15 at 9:09 am

If you are a new member and did not receive your Costco Coupon book you should go to the Customer Service desk at your Costco and ask them for one. They have extras for just such occasions.

  9. 9 greg derian // 2009.02.16 at 7:34 pm

I didn’t get my coupn book this month. Who do I see to get it. Thanks

  10. 10 Kimberly // 2009.02.18 at 11:44 am

Greg, you should talk to the the Customer Service desk and make sure that your membership is set up to receive the mailings, such as the coupons.

  21. 21 Ryan // 2009.06.10 at 9:32 am

Has anyone received the June coupons? I’m in Canada, so they don’t send them to me. I’m thinking about going down to do some shopping this weekend, but I’m wondering if it’s worth waiting until the coupons are out.

  22. 22 Kimberly // 2009.06.10 at 9:48 am

I haven’t gotten my coupon book yet. But there have been a couple of people that posted that the new coupon books go into effect on June 15th.

COUPON BOOKS for Costco. I joined Costco Whse in May 2009…Didn’t get any coupon book, nothing has been mailed to me. What is this all about? Where do I inquire about this?

Where do I send a complaint to?
    -Thank you.

  27. 27 Kimberly // 2009.06.30 at 11:43 am

If you’re a new member, it can take up to a month before you are on the Costco mailing list, so you may have missed the most recent coupon book mail schedule. However, you can also go to the Customer Service desk and ask them for a copy. You might want to make sure that they have your current address and that you’re membership account is setup to receive this type of mail from Costco (on the “PMO” sub-screen in your membership file).

  28. 28 Angie // 2009.07.02 at 7:40 pm

Does anyone know when the next Coupon Book will be out. I have the one that expires July 5th. Thanks.

  29. 29 Kimberly // 2009.07.03 at 9:48 am

Just from looking at the past trending of the frequency of the coupon books this year, I’d guess about 2 weeks before the next coupon book arrives.

  30. 30 Kimberly // 2009.07.08 at 5:45 pm

The new Costco Coupon Book will run from July 13 – August 2. So, we should all be receiving them in our mailboxes shortly…like this week.

  31. 31 Paul // 2009.07.09 at 5:30 am

Kimberly, will you please post the coupons? Some people on here have to wait weeks until they get a coupon book. For some Reason I am always the last person to get it..

    thank you..

  32. 32 Kimberly // 2009.07.09 at 7:00 am

Paul, I always have a post detailing all of the items in the coupon book. It’s titled “Costco Coupon Book – *Dates*” and I try to post it as soon as I get the latest coupon book. Unfortunately, this month I haven’t gotten mine yet, but hopefully it will be here by Monday. I don’t post the images of the coupons because I don’t think that would be of much use to anyone and just take longer for everyone to download and view. Costco will not accept photocopies or printouts of the coupons; you must have the real deal to get the savings.

So, check back in a few days for my post about the July coupon book.

  33. 33 Kimberly // 2009.07.10 at 12:36 pm

I just posted about the July coupon book here, for those of you looking for it.

  34. 34 Anonymous // 2009.07.28 at 7:54 pm

Newbie here: Anyone know if Costco accepts two coupon on one item? The July coupon book has a $2 off Kirkland Signature Gourmet Chocolate Chunk Cookies coupon and I have a new membership coupon for $3 off cookies. Thanks. P.S. Are these Kirkland Signature Gourmet Chocolate Chunk Cookies the same ones they sell everyday for $6.49 or something different? Thanks again.

  35. 35 Kimberly // 2009.07.29 at 7:49 am

You can only use one coupon or offer at a time at Costco. So, if you use the coupon that will be expiring after Sunday, you cannot use the one you got with your new membership. However, once the cookies return to normal price next week, you can practically get 1/2 off with your $3.00 off coupon.

Indeed, these are the ones they normally sell for $6.49; they’re delicious!

  36. 36 LupusucksAlot // 2009.08.06 at 8:06 pm

I absoultly enjoy looking forward to going to COSTCO along with my husband. It is a special haven place where I can go and let my spending hair down. It’s cool, just cool. Me and my husband kind-a guess what the end total cost will be, there is nothing that the winner or loser wins or loses because it is just fun…..

  37. 37 Chris // 2009.08.08 at 3:12 am

I really don’t see the point of having Costco coupons, especially in my location here in California. I rarely receive my coupon book, and the location I go to has the laminated sheets and scans coupons for whatever you bought. Basically, no need for coupons. I really think Costco should do away with coupons and just have the book as an advertisement instead. It would be much easier for everybody. Item limits should be recorded in the account info retrieved and updated using the Costco Membership card. I think coupons are the biggest pain in Costco, other than the long lines. I’ve been to other locations out of the city and some cashiers start complaining, even to the point of yelling when I don’t tear the coupons perfectly or if two coupons are attached together. I don’t see what the big deal is anyways. Other places don’t care. I don’t see why Costco has to be such a coupon Nazi. No Chicken Bake for YOU! Next!

  38. 38 Kimberly // 2009.08.11 at 7:06 am

Not all Costco’s have completely done away with the need to present the cashiers with coupons, at least one, to get the discounts. I know that when I asked at my Costco about why they were back to requiring people to hand them a physical coupon, they said they were having a problem with people abusing the coupons and trying to get more than their allowed number of discounts. Though, I must admit that I agree with you that it does look like they could figure out a better way of handling the coupon situation using the power of technology. But I’ve never had snippy cashier people when I had poorly torn coupons or even when I handed them two that were still together.

  39. 39 Josie // 2009.09.11 at 10:54 pm

Just wondering if anyone in California got the new coupon book yet?

  40. 40 Muffinman // 2009.09.12 at 8:57 am

Just got the new coupon book in the mail. They’re valid starting September 17th (09/17/2009). They can be viewd at
    http://adamcos.vndv.com/Costco/20090917.php

As for the issue whether you have to present the actual coupon or not depends a lot on the warehouse. I noticed that in one that was opened fairly recently that they were more sticking to the new policy that you should hand over the coupons whereas here in an older one, with staff that’s been with Costco longer, they still did it the old way.

  41. 41 Jose // 2009.09.16 at 2:37 am

The coupon book starts on Thursday, Sept. 17 and runs through Oct. 4. It should be in the mail, I shop at Fullerton, CA

  42. 42 Ryan // 2009.09.19 at 1:02 pm

Can you please post details about the latest coupon book? I’m thinking about crossing the border tomorrow to go to Bellingham.

    Thanks!

  43. 43 Pauline // 2009.09.30 at 12:08 am

I sometimes have a problem getting coupon books at the membership desk in Bellingham, WA. They usually run out of them by the time I show up. This is only within the first week and a half after the book starts. They say that those coupon books are not for everyone, they are only for certain people like the ones that get them mailed to their homes and I guess, the few lucky ones that get to the membership desk before they run out. Then when you ask if you can still get the discount by the cashier just scanning the bar code, they say “no, you have to present the coupon to the cashier”. Well how can I do that if they can’t supply the members with the coupons that are advertised on their own website? The Costco that I shop at in Canada always has the current coupon handouts or coupon books available in a plentiful supply, they never run out. It just doesn’t seem fair to advertise a coupon book on the website to potentially all their members, and then tell them “no, you can have that, but some of you can”.

  44. 44 Kimberly // 2009.09.30 at 5:33 am

Pauline, I really do agree with your feelings. If you’re going to put it on your website as currently available deals to members, then you should definitely be able to supply all members with the coupon books. At my Costco, they say that the manufacturer’s send out the coupons but that they are supposed to be available to all members; not just to certain members or only to Executive members even. You would think it would be even easier for them now that the coupon’s all carry the same bar code. They could just give people a list of the items and the cashier’s could scan something at checkout for those that didn’t get the coupon book. There seem to be enough people that either don’t get the coupon book or get it very late, that Costco should try to come up with a better way to ensure that all members have equal access to the coupon savings.

  45. 45 Pauline // 2009.09.30 at 11:08 pm

Just to update you on the coupon book thing, I sent an email to Costco.com asking them about this and they replied with this statement:

    Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your email to Costco Wholesale.

Each warehouse receives approximately 3,000 coupon books to hand out to members.

    Thank you,

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So, as you can see, this still doesn’t answer the question about why they don’t let the cashiers scan the coupon even if we don’t hand them one. In Canada they always scan every coupon for every member with or without being handed the actual coupon.
Kimberly, I like your idea about giving us a list of items and they just scan the one bar code, that seems like a better way of doing things, but who are we to tell them? I still love shopping at Costco!!

  46. 46 Ryan // 2009.10.03 at 8:21 pm

Pauline — I totally agree with you. I, too, have had trouble getting coupon books when I go down to Bellingham. It’s frustrating, so I try to go as soon as the coupon book is valid. A few times, I’ve had to look for other people wandering around Costco with coupon book in hand, and ask them if I can have some of the coupons they’re not using.

But to be fair, Canadian Costco warehouses also need you to have the actual coupon from coupon books. They don’t need the weekly coupons you get at the entrance, but the coupons from the books ARE required for the discount.

  47. 47 Pauline // 2009.10.05 at 1:58 pm

Actually, if you look at the latest coupon book in the Canadian stores, they don’t have bar codes on the back; they all come off automatically at the till. It’s great.
The weekly coupons are handed out at the door and must be scanned by the cashier which they will do if you hand them the coupon or not. My main point is that none of either type of these coupons ever run out, they always seem to have an excellent supply.
I guess the manufacturer’s rules for coupons are different in the United States than they are in Canada.

  48. 48 Pauline // 2009.10.06 at 10:21 am

Just wanted to let everyone know that I emailed Costco and found out the dates for the next coupon book. It will run from October 15 to November 1.

  49. 49 Gary // 2009.10.10 at 7:49 pm

Does anyone know how to decode the Costco price tags ? What does the “*” mean ? and isn’t there something about if a price ends in $0.99 ??

  50. 50 Robin // 2009.10.10 at 11:07 pm

I was told the * is used to show it’s a special order they got in for a limited time. It’s not something they plan to continue to restock. If you wait to long for something you really want it could just disappear one day.

I’m not sure about the .99. I thought someone once thought if something is marked down it will end in a different amount, like .89

I would ask one of the workers. They were the ones to originally share the code.

  51. 51 Pauline // 2009.10.11 at 1:28 am

    .97 indicates a price drop.

  52. 52 shaindy // 2009.10.14 at 4:42 pm

can you please post the new coupons? (the ones for October-November) Thank you

  53. 53 Kimberly // 2009.10.14 at 4:50 pm

I haven’t gotten the latest coupon book but since it should be starting soon, I’m hoping to get it this week. I’ll be posting about it as soon as I get it.

  54. 54 Kris // 2009.10.15 at 11:42 am

Coupon books are already out and they start from today Oct 15th. I saw some people carrying it.

    I don’t have it yet.

  56. 56 Pauline // 2009.10.30 at 11:49 am

For anyone that’s interested, the next coupon book will run from November 12 to 29.

  57. 57 Joe // 2009.11.06 at 12:44 pm

I work at a Costco warehouse in California, and I wanted to shed some light on the coupon issue. As cashiers, we do have a universal coupon that if scanned will get all of the coupons on your order. However, some warehouses require the cashiers to collect all coupons used so that they can not be re-used. The problem is that people were coming back and using the coupons over and over, which upset the manufacturers. Therefore, the manufacturers asked the warehouses to collect all coupons and only provide them to members who hand them to cashiers. However, it is still at the discretion of the cashier and still varies from warehouse to warehouse.

With that being said, look at the number beneath each barcode of all the in-store coupons in the coupon books. They are all the SAME!!! If you do not have a coupon book, find any coupon from that book (preferably something your buying) and hand it to the cashier. One coupon will deduct anything you bought on coupon.

    Hope this helps!

  58. 58 BigMuffin // 2009.11.08 at 1:17 pm

Here’s a link to the November Costco Coupons valid from 11/12/09 until 11/29/09:

    Coupon book November

I guess there still will be another special set of coupons for the days after Thanksgiving.

  59. 59 Robin // 2009.11.09 at 10:54 pm

I heard at the Edison store today that there are new coupons coming out on the November 11th. I’m currently out of town and hitting the local Costcos. Since I can’t get to my coupons while I’m here, I wonder if they can give me a book or do something at customer service.

In the past, sometimes the price range up at the sale price without the coupon, other times they say you must have the coupon. I’m not sure what the rule is this time.

Since I’m taking a friend to the Long Island City (Queens) store I’d like to show off Costco in all it’s coupon book glory!

  60. 60 Kimberly // 2009.11.10 at 9:09 am

The way the coupon, or no coupon, situation is handled seems to vary greatly by location. Which makes it really hard to know what to do. But all you need is one coupon, don’t forget! I’ll bet if you asked the customer service people, and explained that you’re out of town and thus can’t get your mail, they’d help you out.

I haven’t gotten my new coupon book yet, but I imagine it’ll be in my mailbox today and I’ll post about it immediately, but the new coupons run from November 12 – November 29.

  61. 61 Robin // 2009.11.10 at 11:14 am

The coupon/no coupon situation seemed to change at the same local store from book to book. One time I was searching for the coupons and they said the registers automatically picked up the sale price. The next time they said I had to turn in a coupon.

Maybe it varies depending on the maximum items you can get with one coupon.

I know when I asked at BJ’s they said the coupons they issue are actually manufacturers coupons, so they need them to turn in for reimbursement. I don’t know that Costco turns theirs in.

I’ll check here first to see if there are any new coupons I ‘gotta have’ while I’m here. If so, give them my best, “old lady jonesin’ for some Costco coupons” look. LOL

  62. 62 Kimberly // 2009.11.10 at 11:30 am

I just added the post about this month’s Costco Coupon Book, so you can go check it out and see if there’s anything that will make you whip out the “old lady jonesin’ for some Costco coupons” look, Robin. :-)

  63. 63 Joe // 2009.11.14 at 9:23 pm

Two more things I forgot to mention in my previous post:

Coupon books are always available to all members at the membership desk. If you don’t have coupons or forgot yours, go to membership. Also, Costco does not turn in the coupons. They go straight in the trash can.

    -Joe (Costco employee)

  64. 64 BryanJ // 2009.11.21 at 2:34 pm

I never, ever, get Costco coupons in mail. I checked with the membership desk yesterday and they have my correct address. What should I do??

  65. 65 Joe // 2009.11.23 at 11:48 am

BryanJ: The coupons only get mailed out to the primary card holder on each account, so if you are an add on cardholder there is no way to request that the book be mailed to you. Also, some people just do not get coupons. Just check at the membership desk every time you go in!

  66. 66 RichH // 2009.11.23 at 1:26 pm

Has anyone else noticed that you no longer need the coupon to get the money deducted at checkout. The cash registers in my store (Novato, California) now automatically deduct the coupon value on any coupon item. And, as many times as you shop during the coupon valid days, even the limit 1 coupons work everytime. In other words $2. off bounty will be given everytime you buy it during the target days.

  67. 67 Robin // 2009.11.25 at 2:04 am

Don’t count on them not requiring coupons in the future, as the rule seems to keep changing.

I had no problem getting the coupon book while I was in Astoria (Queens) NY. They were handing them out at guest services.

  68. 68 wayne // 2009.11.29 at 10:11 am

When is the next coupon book supposed to come out? I’m waiting in anticipation!!

  71. 71 Kimberly // 2010.01.07 at 8:25 am

You should have the next coupon book because it runs from January 7 (today) – January 24. My post about this month’s coupon book will be published this morning. I included a PDF so that you can browse through the coupons even if you haven’t gotten your coupon book yet.

  72. 72 lena // 2010.01.18 at 9:00 pm

I never got my coupons, but used to, they say because I’m under a primary holder, but I always pay the membership fees they charge.

  73. 73 J Tib // 2010.01.26 at 12:12 am

you are being told that because the membership cards are considered a household account. Meaning it is meant that the two card holders are supposed to live in the same house therefore only being able to use the coupons once. Theres always a way to get your hands on them. And if you didnt know already all you have to have is one coupon for one of the items you have and everything else that is on coupon will automatically come off when they scan that one coupon.

Does anyone think they will have a TurboTax coupon for February? I know they had one for January, but I missed it!

  76. 76 Laura // 2010.02.02 at 12:54 am

Turbo Tax just sent me an email stating that you can save $10 instantly when purchasing Turbo Tax from Staples, Amazon, Office Depot, OfficeMax, or Frys Electronics. The offer is valid 1/31/10-2/6/10.

If you’re just doing a 1040EZ and other simple returns, you can actually use TurboTax online free, and even get a free federal efile. Check out the TurboTax website for all the information.

    Hi Kimberly! 2/25/2010

I was wondering if you know what the price of grape juice is at Costco now? I am debating over going to my local Safeway for grape juice. They are currently having a sale until 3/2/2010 on 64 oz. bottles of Welch’s grape juice at $2.49, originally priced at$2.99.

It had been quite some time since I have shopped at Costco. But, given how the price of things are at the local grocery stores, it makes 100% sense to go to Costco to buy things in bulk. The local stores are getting way too out of hand with their prices!

Thank you for your time and attention to my message!

    Sincerely,

    Mary
    (Emeryville, CA)

Mary, I wish I had a current price for you but it’s been a while since I bought some grape juice at Costco. I know when I did my grocery comparison chart last year, Costco was considerably less than Safeway (Randall’s in Austin) for the 100% Grape Juice. At that point, Costco was selling their 64 ounce bottles for $2.32 (of course you have to buy 2, so the sell price would be $4.64) vs. $4.89 at Safeway/Randall’s. I’ll try to find some receipts that we brought with us to London and see if those have any purchases of grape juice and post another comment if I find anything useful to you.

To all Costco members saying they aren’t getting the coupons, you need to head to the Membership desk and ask them to update your account. Coupons aren’t just for the Executive level memberships – it is merely a setting in the account that someone neglected to set up when you joined. Costco employees are flawed humans too and they made a mistake, but it’s easily corrected. It will take 6-8 weeks for the marketing materials to start showing up in your mailbox from the time you get set-up, but they will start to come.

    Happy Shopping!

I’m interested in finding out when the next book of coupons comes out (after May 9th) also. I have to buy an external hard drive and I’d like to see if there’s a better deal with the coupon in May/June book. Thanks!
