Who Doesn’t Love Costco’s Return Policy?

I read a great testament to Costco’s unbelievably good customer service and spectacular return policy on The Life of Rileigh today.  This story is so good it’s almost hard to believe.  But of course, anyone that has shopped at Costco knows that they always come through for their customers.

Here are the basics of the story.  Rileigh and her husband were on vacation in Hawaii when their camera broke.  So, they went to Costco to get a replacement.  All is good so far because not only were they able to get the new camera they wanted, it was even on sale.  Sadly, after returning home the new camera started acted flakey.  They ended up taking it back to Costco, but this is where the story gets interesting.  Now, you’d expect Costco to take it back without a hassle if you are within your 90 day window.  However, would you still expect that if you didn’t have the box or the receipt?  Yeah, that is the impressive part. But Costco is incredible so they were able to return the camera and the store manager even let them have the original sale price on the new one they got.   That’s why Costco rocks!

    That is an incredible story! But it’s definitely stuff like that, that makes people so absolutely loyal to Costco. And it is why I’m such a Costco-aholic too.

    One time I bought a case of water (6 one gallon bottles) and stupid me left it in my cart in the parking lot. I went back the next day and asked if by chance anyone had been nice enough to return the water. Of course no one had, but they gave me a new case anyway. All that did was make me an even more loyal Costco customer!

    I hate to return things – even at Costco, but they do have a great policy. I had to return a Timex Nature Sounds Clock Radio today because it lost too much time and had to be reset a few times a day. Hoping that it was just an isolated defective model, I purchased another. Unfortunately it has a new set of problems – can’t set date or year. So I get to avail myself once again of Costco’s great return policy!
