Costco Coupon Book

Costco Coupon Book

This month I actually got my coupon book on time, or at least before it was active.  The great thing about this coupon book is that there are some good staple products like laundry and cleaning supplies, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and contact lenses (I mention that because someone just asked about those like 2 days ago).  And I’m going to take a hint from Clue and put a list of all of the coupons, but I’ll still talk about the ones that I like best. There are 100 coupons in total; that is more than $1,500 in savings at the stores and $4,500 in savings at Costco.com.

Food & Beverage: I’ll be honest, this isn’t the most impressed I’ve ever been with the coupons that fit into this category.  It’s probably because there don’t seem to be as many as there usually are; only 17 coupons this time.  And most of the products are things I probably wouldn’t buy.

  • Palermo’s Pizza – These are great little frozen pizzas.  They have a nice thin crust that gets very crispy in about 10 minutes of cooking time; convenient and fast.  They also have nice toppings with good flavor and a nice mix of cheese to sauce.  With this coupon you can get the 3 packs of Margherita, Pepperoni, Supreme, or Grilled Chicken Cesar, or a 4 pack of the Margherita pizzas.  For something quick to eat or with low hassle factor they are a good, solid option.  And they’re a nice dinner with a salad.  $3.00 off.
  • Dreyer’s Skinny Cow Ice Cream Sandwiches – I’ve bought these before and I have to admit, I like them.  I like ice cream sandwiches more than I do just a bowl of ice cream.  In the box at Costco, you get 10 chocolate dn 10 vanilla ice cream sandwiches for under $10 (not including the coupon).  And for low fat ice cream, it’s some of the best I’ve had.  Usually the low fat chocolate has a somewhat chalky taste to me and isn’t so pleansant but this is creamy and chocolaty, just like the full fat stuff.  Each one of these tasty little treats only has 140 calories too, so you can have a treat and not blow your diet.  $2.50 off; 2 item limit.
  • Other Coupons:
    • Quaker Chewy Granola Bars Variety Pack, 60 count: $3.00 off; 1 item limit.
    • Sensible Portions Cheating with Chocolate Mini Crisps, 26 count: $3.00 off.
    • Orville Redenbacher’s Microwave Popcorn: $4.00 off; 4 item limit.
    • Folgers Classic Roast Ground Coffee, 48 ounce: $2.00 off; 1 item limit.
    • Cinnamon Toast Crunch with Fiber, 2-22.87 ounce bags: $2.00 off; 2 item limit.
    • V8 100% Vegetable Juice, Regular or Low Sodium, 48-5.5 ounce cans: $4.50 off; 1 item limit.
    • Progresso Soup – Light Chicken and Beef Combo, 8-18.5 ounce cans: $2.75 off; 1 item limit.
    • Pepsi, Diet or Caffeine-Free Diet: $2.50 off 36 pack or $1.50 off 24 pack; 2 item limit.
    • Lipton Diet Green Tea with Citrus, 24 pack: $2.50 off.
    • Fruit Naturals Red Grapefruit, 8-8 ounce cups: $2.50 off, 5 item limit.
    • Odwalla Superfood, 2-32 ounce bottles: $1.50 off, 1 item limit.
    • Dannon Danimals Yogurt, 24-3.1 ounce cups: $3.00 off, 3 item limit.
    • Birds Eye Cashew Chicken with Asian Vegetables, 44 ounce bag: $3.00 off.
    • Foster Farms &/or Tyson All Natural Chicken Breast Nuggets, 5 pounds: $3.00 off; 2 item limit.

Household Items: This and seems to have most of the coupons this time; 26 across cleaning, flooring, and bedding.  There seem to be a lot of cleaning supplies.  It isn’t even time for spring cleaning yet, but I guess they are thinking you should stock up before hand in case you want to get a head start.

  • Little Giant 17′ Megalite Type 1A Ladder – We bought one of these last year when they had a $30 off coupon and we absolutely love it!  It is so convenient to store because it folds up to be less than a foot deep and less than 4 foot tall probably.  And it is very light weight, which makes moving it easy for just about anyone.  The nicest thing is that it can fold into all kinds of configurations to fit just about any project you might need it for.  You can read a little more in my previous post.  $30.00 off; 1 item limit.
  • First Alert Fire Safety Products – I’m all for being safe, especially where the lives are concerned or my house, so I’m always going to suggest people use these coupons when they come up in the Costco Coupon Book.  This coupon covers any of their products: smoke and fire alarms, carbon monoxide detectors, fire extinguishers, and Tundra fire extinguishing spray (selection may vary at your Costco).  The Tundra product is really neat because it basically does the same thing as a fire extinguisher but is a smaller, easier to use canister.  It looks like a can of hairspray and sprays in a similar fashion.  Since it has such a compact size it would be great to keep in your car, with your camping gear, or in your bathroom, or just anyplace you’d could possibly have a fire but don’t have the space to keep a full sized fire extinguisher.  Seriously folks, if you don’t have fire extinguishers and detectors, now is the time to get your house and cars all set up and prepared since there is no limit with this coupon!  $7.00 off.
  • Comforel Ultima Down Alternative Pillows, 2 pack – With this coupon you can get either standard/queen sized pillows or the king sized pillows.  It’s funny but just recently I was telling Dave that we really need to get some new pillows for our room and luckily, we haven’t gotten any yet.  We have some of these pillows in our guest room and they are so soft and nice.  And while they don’t feel quite the same as a down pillow, they do have a softer feel than the ones with that synthetic fill that is kind of bunchy and hard.  Since there is no limit with this coupon, you can easily get new pillows for everyone!  $5.00 off.
  • Other Coupons:
    • Clorox Disinfecting Wipes &/or ToiletWand Disposable Toilet Cleaning System: $2.50 off; 5 item limit.

Health & Beauty: Good dental hygiene is apparently what Costco is all about because every coupon book has lots of dental savings.  All together there are 27 coupons that fall into this general category that cover some items that you probably don’t have to buy too often (especially if you buy them at Costco) like Kleenex.

  • Acuvue Contact Lenses – Oasys, Oasys for Astigmatism, &/or 1-Day Acuvue Moist, 8 boxes: If you wear contact lenses, this is the time to buy them at Costco.  The $20 off that you get with this coupon almost completely covers the price of a whole box of 6 lenses (at least for the regular Oasys).  Needless to say, Costco’s prices are much better than you’re going to find at the regular opthamologist.  Plus, you can get your contacts in about 10 minutes when you’re at Costco doing the rest of your shopping.  $20.00 off purchase of 8 boxes.
  • Oral-B CrossAction Pro-Health Toothbrushes, 6 pack: I think I write about these everytime Costco offers a coupon for them.  So, once again I’ll say that I love these toothbrushes.  They make my teeth feel clean and sparkly like I’ve just come from the dentist.  You can read this previous post for my full take on these excellent toothbrushes. $4.00 off; 1 item limit.
  • Other Coupons:
    • Kirkland Signature Upright Facial Tissue, 12-100 count boxes: $2.00 off; 1 item limit.

    • Excedrin, Benefiber, Theraful, Lamisil, &/or Gas-X: $3.50 off; 7 item limit.

Electronics: There aren’t as many television or camera offers as there had been before Christmas, which is unfortunate, if you were looking for a new one.  There are only 11 coupons for these types of items, so there’s definitely less than in the last couple of coupon books.

  • Toshiba 19″ Class LCD/DVD Combo – I would actually consider getting one of these for my guest room because it would be nice to get these two things in one little package that would fit in my cabinet.  However, it isn’t full 1080p HD with a resolution of just 1366×768.  It does have an HDMI input and a PC input, so it might be good for a kids room too.  Plus, it does have the built-in DVD player which is nice, especially if you don’t have the space for a full-sized DVD player.  $80.00 off; 1 item limit.
  • Other Coupons:
    • Vizio 42″ 1080p LCD HDTV: $100 off; 1 item limit.
    • Dreamworks/Paramount Animated DVD Assortment: $3.00 off.
    • HP 16″ Widescreen Laptop Computer, $799.99 with coupon: $150.00 off; 1 item limit; also available at Costco.com.

    • Western Digital “My Passport Elite” 320GB Portable Hard Drive: $30.00 off; 1 item limit; also available at Costco.com.

Costco.com Items: There are 20 coupons for items that are only available through Costco.com.  They cover software, furniture, electronics, exercise equiptment, and even a greenhouse and a spa.  There are great descriptions and even reviews now for products on Costco.com, and since I don’t have actual experience with any of these items, I’m just going to list out all of the coupons.  And don’t forget that the prices on the items through Costco.com do include shipping and handling fees.

I recall Costco started selling Gel Bedding products 2008 or 2009. Does anyone know first year Costco started to sell Gel Bedding. Think name might be Novaform?

Can someone clarify Costco coupon book policy? On several occasions, the cashiers said all I need is to present the coupon book and they would automatically scan for the items subject to the coupon. This afternoon the cashier was insistent that I tear out the coupons and present them to him. I play by the rules but I like for them to be consistent.

@Lisa: I think Costco’s policy is pretty clear on this one, that they only mail coupon books to the primary member. You can always ask the customer service desk for a book yourself though.

By any chance, did you ask if you could change the mailing address for the primary member? At worst, your friend should be able to go in and do it for your membership.

As an aside, am I wrong in that a single membership is supposed to represent a single organization or family?

  4. 4 Lisa // 2010.03.30 at 4:23 am

I did go to Customer service at my local Costco.
They checked my status, and told me that since my friend is the primary, they cannot send me the coupon.
I said that didn’t make sense and it was NOT fair since I had paid the membership fee. But they said they cannot do anything.

Then, I emailed customer service at Costco website, and explained my situation. I got the same COLD reply.

Isn’t it weird? How hard is it to mail to the bloody coupon book and treat ALL members the same way?!

I purchased the Oral B electric toothbrush combo mid January and now they are on sale for $25 less 2 and 1/2 months later. I still have my receipt…can I get a refund for the difference?

    • 6 Kimberly // 2010.03.30 at 6:01 am

Donna, the only way to get the refund will be to take back your toothbrush and repurchase it. That is the only thing that I have consistently been able to get to work. I do think some people have said that they have had success getting their Costco to give them a refund on just the amount of the coupon without the need for the full exchange process.

  6. 7 Kimberly // 2009.08.15 at 8:39 am

No, all members get these coupon books. If you’re not getting yours, you should check with the Customer Service desk at your local Costco.

  7. 8 ymon // 2009.08.15 at 8:01 am

I thought you had to be an Exec Member to receive coupons

  8. 9 Kimberly // 2009.03.17 at 8:59 am

Mohammed, I’m not actually affiliated with Costco in any way, so I can’t send make sure that you get your coupon books. However, if you go to the Customer Service desk at your local Costco they will definitely be able to give you a copy of the latest coupon book and make sure that you get them in the future.

Vic, it’s a pain to have to go through all that but for $100, it’s worth a little bit of hassle, I agree. Glad it worked out in the end and you were able to get the coupon savings though.

    THANK YOU

  11. 12 Vic // 2009.03.16 at 6:13 pm

HI Kim, Thanks for the response. I did not have the item anymore (it was a gift for a friend, and I had to ship it. ) So, I went to the store and told them my story, they insisted that I do the return and repurchase. So Since I did not have the item on hand anymore, I repurchased and and took the item to return.. a bit of work, but it is worth the $100.

    Thanks again.

  12. 13 Kimberly // 2009.03.13 at 8:20 am

Vic, We’ve had luck just taking in our receipt for the item and the coupon and they’ll give us a refund. However, recently people have posted that this method hasn’t worked for them and they had to actually take the item in, return it, and then re-purchase it with the coupon. You might want to call the customer service desk at your local warehouse to check with them before trying either method of getting the extra $100 back.

  13. 14 Vic // 2009.03.12 at 10:36 pm

I bought a HP laptop for last week for $800, now it is on the march coupon with $100 off , do you think I can get the difference back? After all it is 100 dollars.

  14. 15 jim // 2009.03.02 at 10:00 am

Some of the coupons say one per coupon not one per household(the 42′ Vizio tv $100.00 off).I used two coupons and got two tv’s no problem.Someone else didn’t want there coupon so I used theirs. As for costco tracking your coupon use, I know they track pretty well cause they sent me a letter that they had records of me buying recalled peanut products and to return them.

  15. 16 costco2much // 2009.02.28 at 7:27 pm

If you get that Costco Magazine in the mail and look at the ads in the back section (the TVs and such), you can see small icons in some of the pics showing a new coupon book. The upcoming one has a green top background (the one that expires March 1 has a yellow one).
